Bird Watching Program 

 
On the occasion of Bagmati River Festival’09, Nepal River Conservation Trust and Bird Conservation Nepal, jointly organizing the bird watching program at Shivapuri National Park. This has helped people to develop bird identification skills as well as helped in regular monitoring of the birds of Kathmandu Valley. Birdwatching in the weekends is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Leave all stress behind and embark on a bird watching journey in the valley.

 

Shivapuri National Park:

Shivapuri National Park, about 12 km from the capital, lies on the northern side of the Kathmandu Valley. Shivapuri (2730 m) is the second highest mountain that surrounds the Kathmandu Valley.

Hill Partridge, Great Barbet, Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon, Orange-bellied Leafbird, Kalij Pheasant, Asian Paradise-flycatcher, Blue-capped Rock Thrush, Oriental Cuckoo, Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, Black Eagle, Blue-fronted Redstart, Lemon-rumped Warbler, Spotted Forktail etc

How to get there:

There are frequent buses from Rantapark and Sundhara to Budhanilkantha and very few microbuses to Pani Muhan. If one cannot find direct bus to Pani Muhan, you can take bus to Budhanilkantha and then change busfrom Budhanilkantha to Pani Muhan.
