|
National Water Week Organizing Committee 2009 is going to organize a week long program entitled "National Water Week 2009" from 18 to 23 March, 2009. Along with Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), Green Youth Network (GYN) and Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) the Committee include over 50 organizations including GOs, INGOs, NGOs and Youth Groups.
The theme of National Water Week 2009 is Water, Climate and Our Life: Merging Interests, Creating Synergies. The water week has been designed to celebrate the World Water Day (March 22) and World Meteorological Day (March 23) in order to disseminate the message of importance of water and climate to life and the risk that is growing along with them.
The main objective of this program is to aware and sensitize policy makers, development planners, bureaucrats, environmentalists, researchers, advocacy groups, students and the society as a whole on the water and climate issues.
The one week program includes
18 March : Water Parade, Press Conference and Release of Books Venue: Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap Time : 7:30-10:30 AM
19 March : Water Talk with the CA members Venue: Alfa Beta Complex, Baneshwor Time : 10:30-2:30 PM
20- 21 March : Exhibition (Pani-Mela) Venue: Rastriya Sabha Griha, Bhrikutimandap Time : 10:00-5:00 PM
20- 21 March : Talk Program and Documentari Show Venue: Rastriya Sabha Griha, Bhrikutimandap Time : 10:00-5:00
22 March : World Water Day Conference Venue: Rastriya Sabha Griha, Bhrikutimandap
23 March : World Meteorological Day Conference, Water Declaration Release and Closing Ceremony Venue: Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap
