As both of you are probably aware, I have resigned as Assoc. Prof. of
Violin at WSU and will not be at the Univ. in that capacity next
academic year. Within this context, I and the many of the students I
have worked with are still deeply committed to the work we started
within the framework of CRATEL and are wondering how it might continue
to develop.
Specifically, I email both of you in regards to Strings, Kansas!
Strings, Kansas! was founded and continues to operate as a separate
entity, not directly connected with any course or any curriculum.
However, it seems as though there may be considerable overlap in
philosophy and goals with coursework that both of you already offer. We
are hoping you each might meet with us and brainstorm a bit about how SK
has functioned, how it might function in the future, and if there a way
SK could be integrated with your work to support you and your students.
If it works with your schedules, we would ideally like to meet with each
of you for an hour between 2:30 and 4:30 Friday May 9. Perhaps if both
of you are free during that time, Elaine you might meet with us between
2:30 and 3:30 and Pat you could meet with us 3:30 to 4:30.
I know this is late notice and we aren't giving you much of a window for
scheduling times, and I apologize for this. I sincerely hope both of you
can meet with us. I think there are some exciting possibilities within
this framework.

Elaine will come at 3:30 Friday, so if you could come at 2:30 Friday,
that would be ideal. Please let me know whether or not this is possible
for you.
Thanks,
-John
