Hi,
Judging from the list of locations of the hearings, NYRI is *no*t
going to try to build the powerlines on the route through chenango
forks and along the RR tracks through chenango bridge. However, NYRI
is looking to the PSC to help it map the route -- so it still can
change from the original plans if the PSC recommends it.
Although there are no hearings in Broome County, I think the route
still will be cutting through our county by way of Sanford and
Deposit. (leaving from N. Norwich, following the NYSEAG powerlines
overland and then over the river to Afton, and then to sanford,
deposit, following delaware and tracks to hancock, callicoon, and down
finally to orange county)
I think it will be visible from Rt 17 near Sanford and Deposit as you
can see the RR tracks which it is supposed to be following.
I will try to find out more to make sure this is still the route
through our county. Not sure why no meetings in Deposit area, but
those interested are not far from Hancock meeting.
