Folks,
see this news article from Utica newspaper:
http://www.uticaod.com/news/x1292881640/NYRI-still-dead-power-line-developer-says
This is not the same proposal as the NYRI powerline that finally died after NYRI withdrew its FERC application (because Con Edison did not want to buy their power!)
I am sorry to resurrect this topic after all this time. But I think this group of investors building NYRI was so nasty and underhanded, they bear watching by all New Yorkers.
Also, folks -- the abandoned railway line from Chenango Forks to Utica will be rebuilt and used again. Chuck Schumer secured a grant (said it was repair after flood but railroad line was not in use at the time of the last flood, so flood must have been the previous one)
I would think the rebuild of the line probably would be of interest for shipping of other materials, maybe relating to gas pipeline or gas drilling in the shale areas of Marcellus and Utica shales. No reason to think the powerline would try to use this route again.
But let's be aware that some issues never really die -- they just wait for a better time!
