Hello fellow Stone Bridge Drivers,
The Grand Prix Festival has recently learned of some related schedule changes. Because NBC will be covering the summer Olympics in 2024, NASCAR has decided to alter their schedule which means that their 2024 Go Bowling at The Glen race is moving to 9/15/24 https://www.theglen.com/
As a result the SVRA had to move their Hilliard US Vintage Grand Prix Weekend to 8/21 to 8/25/24.
The Grand Prix Festival will still be held on the first Friday after Labor Day 9/6/24.
That means that in 2024 the SVRA races will not be held on the same weekend as the Grand Prix Festival. We do still plan on having our festival be as normal as possible although you are all aware that our Grand Prix Festival is nothing like a normal festival.
MG will still be the Featured Marque for 2024 and we will still have all of our regular Stone Bridge Driver Events including at least one surprise addition that we are currently working on that will be exciting.
I know that some of you come for the GPF and then take in the SVRA races while you are here, others come for the SVRA races and take in the GPF while you are here. And then there are those who only come for the GPF.
Either way, it will be business as somewhat usual for the Grand Prix Festival.
So, be prepared to keep on keeping up with the car ahead of you,
Casey

Thanks Mike,
To add to that, I regularly hike with a group of hikers from Ithaca, NY. They do hikes every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and they are usually two hour hikes. So when we get closer to our event, if anyone is interested in a local hike on the Finger Lakes Trail, let me know and we can put something together for you. Bring your hiking shoes. And you can imagine what we do on the trail to prevent getting lost. Yep, you got it. Keep up with the hiker ahead of you.

I don’t know for sure yet, but I rather doubt it.
On the other hand there is a possibility that we will be planning some things for that Saturday. It is too early to say at this point. But those who know how we tend to do things, know that one way or another, it will be a fun weekend.

That is certainly a possibility. The way this sort of thing works is quite interesting. Our regular Friday Festival is a very complicated piece with lots of moving parts. When any parts need to be added or changed, it can get tricky in that before you can add in an idea that might have been agreed to, you first have to make sure you can get several other pieces into place. And each one of those pieces may require official approval from one government entity or another. Or you might have to get approval for a new idea from a sponsor. Or you might have to get a sponsor for a new idea. Or just warm bodies to make the new idea work. It is very complicated. But that is what makes it so much fun to put on and so much fun for you folks to participate in.
We know how to make this work. Trust us. And we will try to keep you posted as things progress.

How about reviving the "Falls Tour" from a few years back? Plenty to do in the area for sure.
