#11-Corey Heim did what he’s done all season on Friday night. He led the most laps, swept the stages, and won the Slim Jim 200 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway. The win was his 11th win of the season, second at Martinsville, and the 22nd of his career.
Already locked into the championship race next weekend at Phoenix Raceway, and with a view of clear racetrack ahead of him, Heim was unaware of the drama unfolding behind him as he led the field to an overtime restart.
#52-Kaden Honeycutt finished second, ahead of pole-sitter, #34-Layne Riggs. The two ended the race tied in points, with Honeycutt getting the tiebreaker.
#98-Ty Majeski radioed to his crew under the last caution on lap 196 that he feared a flat tire due to contact with the wall. He stayed on track and pulled out a seventh place finish, securing a shot at defending his championship next week.
#18-Tyler Ankrum had a quiet night and finished ninth, filling out the fourth playoff spot.
#1-Brent Crews led 53 laps and finished fourth.
#77-Corey LaJoie was fifth, #38-Chandler Smith finished sixth, #15-Tanner Gray was eighth, and #7-Brenden Queen closed out the top-10.
There were 10 lead changes among six drivers and 11 cautions for 75 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 58.34mph.
