Trouble w/ Tyndall Fonts Keyboard Layout in Spanish

Hi friends,

This is my first time teaching Greek, to Spanish speakers, we’ve run into another problem.

Wondering if you use Tyndale fonts, in a Spanish speakers/typing setting?

The keyboard layout, unknown to me, for Spanish speakers, is different. So, they are having trouble loading the correct keyboard, or, simply knowing where the Tyndale font keyboard falls on their Spanish Keyboard.

 

For instance, the acute and grave accents are normally / or \ on an English keyboard. But on a Spanish keyboard, this is the shift +7 key, which, does not produce the accents. Nor does the location on the keyboard where our / or \ keys are.

Are you, or perhaps, someone you know, able to provide assistance?

I know you probably aren't using Linux, but I just used the Greek localization keyboard (with polytonic dead keys) from my distribution. I would assume other operating systems have something equivalent. If Tyndale does not have their fonts set up to work with a normal Greek keyboard for native Greek speakers, that is something that shouldn't take too long to set up. In Linux, it is just a matter of going through a single tab-aligned configuration text file and matching the right characters with the right keys. I have literally done this. I know they have it set up to work all on its own, with a unique layout, but it would be trivial to also set it up to work with the ordinary layout. And so my advice is to use the internationalization keyboards that come with your distribution, and wait for Tyndale to release something compatible. What you want is not English speakers typing on an English keyboard, or Spanish speakers typing on a Spanish keyboard, but like I do when I type Spanish, both English and Spanish speakers typing on a Greek keyboard. The wheel exists. Sorry if that's too obvious, but that is what occurs to me to do.
