How Thirsty Are You?
"Every now and then you need to undermine your preconceptions and your
experience and your expectations."
If there is one artist who wholly represents the Stay Thirsty
philosophy, it is Einsturzende Neubauten's Blixa Bargeld. Infamous for
having helped break the boundaries of the experimental and industrial
genres, Bargeld has been performing for nearly 30 years and has
influenced countless contemporaries, among them Marilyn Manson,
Depeche Mode, and Nine Inch Nails.
Thirsty is honored to feature an exclusive interview with Blixa
Bargeld from San Francisco. Watch video clips, listen to audio, and
read the history of Bargeld's work with Nick Cave. Einsturzende
Neubauten release their new album in November. Visit staythirsty.com
for this extraordinary interview!
The October issue of Thirsty also features some other firsts. Our
Staged Reading series continues with "The Process." Presented by Stay
Thirsty Media, Inc. and the Laboratory Theatre Project, "Planted or
The Nutt House" is presented in all of its perverse, comical glory.
Watch as this groundbreaking production comes together in true Thirsty
style.
Also in October:
Thirsty catches back up with rockabilly punk Dan Sartain. Fresh off a
tour with The White Stripes, Sartain gets in a few words backstage at
Chicago's famed Double Door. "It's definitely right back in the belly
of the beast, man," he tells us.
The Top Ten Albums of Summer 2007 featuring Spoon, Feist, M.I.A. and
Dizzee Rascal, among others. We also take on Aesop Rock.
Thirsty also introduces fiction with three separate stories by Leah
Moser and work by our own Anna Curtis. Ruben Cantu offers more of his
original photography, and Thirsty gets back in the ring with New York
City's toughest - The Bullys, live from the Trash Bar in Brooklyn!
Thirsty is picking up incredible speed. We have some revolutionary
features coming in the next couple of months, so keep checking back!
Until then...
