Monday Update

May 14, 2007

Can you say "Referendum"?

Costs on the SCAHS renovation project have ballooned to  $132,770,586.

Come to tonight's school board work session at 7:00 in the Mt. Nittany Middle School Library and see what clever ideas the board has to come up with to put lipstick on this pig and avoid a further Act 34 Hearing.  Remember, their commitment to the community is to keep costs below $97,657,721 (That’s the "total maximum project cost" of $101,999,950 minus the costs of razing the South Building).  This cost doesn’t include any change orders or added costs AFTER they start construction.

As Bullwinkle the Moose used to say "Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat".

Please remember to VOTE tomorrow.  Put it on your to-do list now.  Don’t let the insanity of busy schedules, the challenges of the many hats that we wear or the distractions of day to day prevent you from exercising your right to be heard.  There has never been a more important local election when it comes to our children, our community and the public voice.

Please plan to join us at Players NITE CLUB for “Unity in the Community” on Tuesday, May 15 for a gathering to watch the election returns.  The polls close at 8:00 PM so we will begin gathering in the 8:30-9:00 PM hour to follow returns from the Centre County election office and to celebrate our community.  Cash bar.  Snacks provided. Bring your friends and neighbors!

If you pass on any emails this week, let it be this reminder about voting.  Send this to 10 people to remind them to VOTE!!!!
