“It’s over.” (Centre Daily Times, May 22, 2007)
At last night’s regular board meeting, the SCASD school board voted to abandon the high school project and allow the incoming board of directors to start the process of looking at a district wide facilities plan.
State High Vision would like to thank all of you for your support, your comments, your suggestions, your donations and for coming together to support education in our community.
Since December 2005, our mission has been to “Stop and Re-evaluate” the decision on the high school. Last night, we heard the board vote 8-0 to stop the project. The next step is to re-evaluate.
We will work diligently with the board to develop goals for the community, identify possible options, work on a trade off analysis, encourage independent and objective review and finally – to engage ALL members of the community in this effort. Our work is not done. We will ask YOU our supporters to continue to be a part of the community discussion on the future of education in our district.
Thank you to the SCASD community. Right makes might.
