Hi Everyone,

I am wondering what members use 'Tags' verses 'Categories' with
Startaid. We would like to know if they are useful for your
bookmarks or would you rather use categories.

Depending on the feedback we may redesign the page a little to remove
tagging and allow for a more user friendly design. If you find them
useful then we will look at other ideas.

Please let us know your thoughts.

Hiya Kurtis,

Gee I haven't checked here in a while I guess, sorry bout that, been
on vacation :)

I'm old school so I dunno if I represent many or few, but I use only
categories and I don't even bother with the tags ever. To be honest
it's because I don't understand how they work really, and I like the
way the tree of categories look rather than the look of a big cloud of
words and such. I don't quite understand the concept of tags though
and I'm sure that there is much more usefulness to them that I'm
seeing, but I've never once used one. Sorry for such late feedback :)

Hi Kurtis!

StartAid is a nice tool, just found it yesterday (got tired of the
performance issues of a different provider, made some research and
ended up here).

For me tags are a core functionality when organizing bookmarks. It
makes searches for less frequently used links much easier. Links I use
often I know the url anyway...

So, please not only keep the tags, but extend the functionality to the
FF sidebar...

I am also a heavy user of tags and find them extremely when the number
of bookmarks starts to grow and grow. For less than 100 frequently
used bookmarks, the category system may be better, but for more
bookmarks including less frequently used ones, the tagging system is
much better IMO.

So, my 2 cents are: Keep them and extend the functionality just like
Exilbremer said. I think there is a reason why so many other online
bookmarking services have them.

I am another one who doesn't use tags I use only categories. I have
tried tags with photo accounts and didn't really find them helpful
too ambiguous in my opinion.
