Hello All,


First - I am very excited about the upcoming events for our group.  The Leadership Committee met tonight and brainstormed some great ideas for the upcoming months.  Our next event is going to be in March - more details to follow shortly!


Second - the following is a list of upcoming events from Angelus.  Please take a read through all of the exciting things going on at St. Charles.  Also, if you are interested in leading one of the nights of the Stations of the Cross - please let either Angelus or me know.

Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday, Feb 22nd, Mass times offered at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church are the following: 9AM, 12PM, 5:30PM and 7:30PM.

 

Stations of the Cross

You are invited every Friday of Lent at 7:30pm in the Church for the Stations of the Cross (Bilingual).

 

IGNITE: Eucharistic Praise & Worship

On Friday, Feb 24that 7:30pm in the Chapel, you are invited to join area young adults for a time of Eucharistic Adoration, praise & worship, prayer, teaching, confessions and social.  Fr. Jeb Donelan, Parochial Vicar at All Saints in Manassas,  will be giving a talk on “Healing Past Hurts”.  Check it out on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/#!/events/332831436756056/.

 

Lenten Retreat at St. Charles

On Saturday, Feb 25th from 9AM to 4pm, join people from the area to a Lenten retreat at St. Charles Borromeo Gym.  Retreat theme, “Return to the Lord”.  Please note that this is for all ages.  It will be a time for teaching, holy hour and confessions.  You can pre-register for $10 at http://fusdcretreat.eventbrite.com/ or register at the door for $15.  Lunch is included.  Please note that this is a Franciscan University Alumni sponsored event.

 

Confessions every Wednesday night of Lent

Confessions available in the Chapel every Wednesday during Lent from 6:30pm to 8pm.

 

Arlington Diocese Lenten Men’s Conference

On Saturday, March 3th, the Arlington Diocese will be sponsoring a Lenten Men’s Conference at St. Joseph’s in Herndon, VA.  For more info and to register, please click on this link http://www.arlingtondiocese.org/familylife/mc_conference.php.

 

Parish Mission – Volunteers Needed

We would like to invite you to our parish mission which will be held from Monday, March 5th – Thursday, March 8th at 6:45pm in the Church.  This is our main event for Lent so we are encouraging everyone to come to it.  Deacon Norm Carroll is our speaker and our theme is “Embracing Scripture”.  The goal of the mission is for people to gain a deeper understanding of the scriptures as it applies to our lives.  We are in need for more volunteers as greeters, ushers, refreshment setup/clean-up, etc. If are interested in volunteering, please contact Angelus Virata at avi...@stcharleschurch.org.

 

IGNITE: Night of Worship

On Friday, March 9th at 7:30pm in the Chapel, join young adults in the area to hear our very own, Fr. Clement Aapengnuo, talk about “Conflict Resolution in relationships”.  Fr. Clem is currently working on his doctorate on “Conflict Resolution” at George Mason University in Arlington, VA.  He will be giving us ways and helping us sharpen our skills in resolving conflicts in whatever type of relationships or friendships.

 

Arlington Diocese Women’s Retreat with Dr. Ralph Martin

On Saturday, March 10th, the Arlington Diocese will be sponsoring a Lenten Women’s Conference at St. Raymond of Penafort in Springfield, VA.  Dr. Ralph Martin will be speaking.  Dr. Martin is the Founder of Renewal Ministries, a Catholic lay evangelization ministry in Michigan and has been recently appointed by Pope Benedict to co-chair the New Evangelization in the Vatican.  For more info or to register, please visithttp://www.arlingtondiocese.org/familylife/wc_conference.php.

On Friday, March 23rd at 7:30pm in the Chapel, you are invited to join DC area young adults for a time of Eucharistic Adoration, praise & worship, prayer, teaching, confessions and social.  Fr. Stefan Starzynksi, Parochial Vicar at St. Mary of Sorrows in Fairfax will be giving a talk on “Freedom from Sin and Attachments”.

 

Lenten Penance Service

On Monday, April 2nd at 7pm in the Church, St. Charles will hold its Lenten Penance Service.  We will have several priests from the area available for confessions.

 

SAVE-THE-DATE ---- discovering CHRIST

A seven-week series with a day retreat on talks about the meaning of life.  The series will be offered onSundays, starting on April 15th, at 7pm in the School Gym and ends on Pentecost Sunday, May 27th.  Registration is free which includes a free dinner meal, a relevant presentation and small group discussion.  Check out this invite video:
