For basketball, I have always used this formula to calculate pace:

https://s3.sportsdatabase.com/NBA/query.html?sdql=A%28field+goals+attempted+-+offensive+rebounds+%2Bturnovers+%2B+%280.44+*+free+throws+attempted%29%29%2C+A%28pace%29%2C+A%28points+%2B+o%3Apoints%29+%40+season%3D2021++and+overtime%3D0+and+team%3DSpurs&submit=++S+D+Q+L+%21++

But now we have "pace" as a field we can query. I am seeing where the pace field consistently returns a number that is 2-3 possessions lower than the formula I have traditionally used.

Is the formula below flawed when it comes to calculating pace in the NBA, and does anyone know a better formula? Is the "pace" field more accurate than this?
A(field goals attempted - offensive rebounds +turnovers + (0.44 * free throws attempted)), A(pace), A(points + o:points)
