One time while wandering in the forest, Lord Rama became thirsty and
went to drink from a pond. Just before reaching the pond, Rama dropped
his quiver of arrows and thrust the point of his bow into the ground.
On returning, he saw that the bow had pierced the body of a frog, who
was now covered in blood and dying.

With remorse, Rama inquired of the frog: "Why did you not cry out? Had
you but made some sound, I would have known that you were here and
wounded. You would not have come to such a sorry plight."

The frog replied: "Rama, throughout my life, whenever I have been in
difficulty, I have called you for assistance. But now that you yourself
are killing me, whom should I call and what should I say?"
