According to Indian mythology, Rama was the incarnation of God and Sita
was His glorious wife. While Sita was held captive in the demon
Ravana's Ashoka Forest, she was surrounded by a number of guardswomen.
According to the story, these guardswomen were fallen angels - reborn
as warders because of a lapse in their spiritual practice, but able to
come in contact with Sita because of their good deeds in past lives.

Ravana's strict and oft-repeated instructions to the guardswomen was:
"Don't let Sita utter the name 'Rama'!" Accordingly, the guardswomen
would frequently say to Sita: "Sita, don't speak the name 'Rama'."

In this way, both the sinful Ravana and his fallen-angel guardswomen
themselves repeatedly invoked the name of God. Though the direction of
their ideation was negative, their object of ideation was supremely
positive. As such, their liberation was assured.
