Divine Horse

Once a messenger was sent on an urgent mission to a distant city. He
saddled his horse and rode off at a gallop. As the horse passed various
inns where normally it would have stopped for food and water, it
started to think: "Maybe I am no longer a horse. Maybe I have changed
into a human being. In that case, I will not be fed until I reach the
next big city." But one city passed after another without any pause for
food. The horse began to think: "Maybe I have not been transformed into
a human being but rather into an angel. Angels never eat except for a
little ambrosia from time to time." Finally, they reached their
destination, and the horse was led to a stable. Immediately on reaching
the stable, the horse began to eat with ferocious appetite. In the end,
it was still a horse.
