Situation Report 4 – Extreme Weather Events in India (25 July 2026)

Dear Colleagues,
India continues to face multi‑state monsoon emergencies across Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra (Palghar District). Assam remains the worst‑affected, with severe flooding, large‑scale displacement, and extensive crop and livestock losses. Flashfloods and cloudbursts in J&K and Himachal Pradesh have caused home damage, access disruption, and rising protection concerns. Palghar has reported major flooding, evacuations and infrastructure damage, while Gujarat continues to manage a rapidly evolving flood‑like situation with over 22,000 people relocated.
Government agencies, NDRF/SDRF, district administrations, humanitarian organisations and community volunteers are engaged in search & rescue, evacuation, temporary shelter support, food assistance, WASH services, medical care and early recovery efforts across all affected states.
Sphere India and district IAGs are closely coordinating with responding agencies, strengthening information flow, logistics and resource mobilisation to ensure timely, appropriate and well‑coordinated humanitarian action.

Please find attached the Situation Report‑3 on the ongoing multi‑state floods and landslides across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Uttarakhand, along with the Minutes of the IAC Emergency Call held on 21 July 2026. The documents provide consolidated updates on the current situation, key impacts, government response, humanitarian actions, and the decisions agreed upon during the coordination call.

Dear Colleagues,
Please find attached Situation Report 2 on the Assam floods as of 18 July 2026. Floods have affected 21,274 people across 154 villages, with 32 Relief Distribution Centres active and 206 individuals in relief camps. Significant road erosion and dyke damage continue in Dhemaji, Biswanath, and Lakhimpur.
Government agencies and SDRF are leading relief distribution, medical deployment, and infrastructure restoration. Sphere India and District IAGs are closely monitoring the situation. Key emerging needs include WASH support, food assistance, veterinary care, road restoration, and public health surveillance.
