Dear Colleagues,

India is currently experiencing one of the most prolonged and widespread heatwaves in recent years. The 2025 summer season has seen significant temperature spikes across many parts of the country, putting immense pressure on public health systems, agriculture, and vulnerable communities. These recurring extreme heat events highlight the urgent need for improved early warning systems, inter-agency coordination, and community-level preparedness. In response, Sphere India is organizing a National Consultation on Strengthening Heat Wave Preparedness and Resilience on April 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM (IST).

This multi-stakeholder event will bring together key voices from government, disaster management experts, NGOs, academia, and community groups to discuss challenges, share strategies, and build collaborative action plans to mitigate the impact of future heatwaves.

Date: 9th April 2025
Time: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
