Greetings from Sphere India!
We are delighted to announce that Sphere India in collaboration with Americares India Foundation and the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) is organizing a three-day training for humanitarian professionals on Introduction to Psychosocial Support (PSS) in Emergencies from 23rd to 25th April, 2024. This training program aims to strengthen the competencies of humanitarian actors working in disasters and humanitarian settings to establish, support, and scale up PSS in communities. The training is inclusive of all expenses (including travel) for selected participants.
We invite applications from colleagues based in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana to avail of this opportunity to join a roster of trained volunteers on psychosocial support. The volunteers will join a cadre capable of being mobilised post-emergencies to provide basic psychosocial support and first aid in their respective geographies. Participants from disaster-prone areas of these states are particularly encouraged to apply. Only selected participants will be contacted to coordinate for the training participation.
