Dear Colleagues,
Severe flooding caused by heavy rainfall and dam water release has impacted 6 districts in southern West Bengal, affecting over 2.5 lakh residents and claiming 3 lives. Worst-hit areas include Ghatal (West Medinipur) and Udaynarayanpur (Howrah), with significant damage to homes, crops, and infrastructure. Around 25,000 people have been evacuated, with 180 relief camps set up for shelter.
NDRF teams are actively engaged in rescue operations, and immediate support is required for shelter, food, and health services. Sphere India along with IAG-W.B, and UNICEF are monitoring the situation development.
Please find attached the Situation Report - 01 for more details.
Warm Regards
