Dear Colleagues,
Since the onset of the monsoon on 20th June 2025, Himachal Pradesh has been severely impacted by intense hydro-meteorological events, including cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides. These disasters have led to widespread human and infrastructural losses, particularly in districts such as Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Hamirpur, and Kangra. The cumulative toll includes over 100 fatalities, 1,000+ damaged homes, blocked roads, disrupted utilities, and significant livestock loss. Relief and rescue operations have been undertaken by district authorities, armed forces, and humanitarian agencies, with Mandi witnessing some of the most intense interventions. NGOs across multiple districts have mobilized resources to support food, shelter, WASH, and medical needs of affected communities.
