GooD AfternooN Alumni,

It Has Been Years Since The House Sparrows Appeared In Towns And Cities.

World Sparrow Day -WSD- Is On March 20. A Day Day Set Aside For The
Birds Provides A Platform For Us To Work Together To Find Ways and
Means To Protecting The Sparrows.

One Of The Reasons For Depleting Numbers Is The Change In Our
Lifestyles. Mobile Phone Towers, Lack Of Trees And Food Are Some Of
The Reasons.

In The Past, Houses, Had Many Nooks And Crannies And Sparrows Found It
Convient To Build Their Nest There.

The Heavy Use Of Pesticides, Chemicals And Fertilizers In Agriculture,
Killed The Worms And Insects That The Sparrow Chicks Fed On.

Devoid Of Nourishing Food, The Chicks Could Not Attain Maturity
Another Reason Is That Our Life Style Has Changed So Much That It Kept
The Sparrows From Living Closely With People.

India Is The Country Where WSD Is Celebrated In A Big Way. WSD Related
Activities Can Be Registered At WWW.WORLDSPARROWDAY.ORG/FORM

Hello Annapurna,

I am staying in Oil & Gas Industrial City in Qatar. And believe me i was wondered and felt very happy to see Sparrows here. There are many here. I thought they migrated from India to Qatar. 

The camp where i stay there are many sparrows, a few build nest on my room near the vent. Here as you mentioned in mail there are not much mobile towers, and this may be one of the reasons sparrows are seen here. In spite of hazardous pollution.

Nice To Hear About Lots Of House Sparrows In Your Place And May Be Yes
As You Said About The Migritation Of Birds From India To Arab Country.

Thankfully There Are No Immigration Check For The Sparrows, Just Kidding.
