Two SPLM officials held in Kenya to appear before court today

NAIROBI (27 Jan.)

Two South Sudanese rebel officials who have been detained in Kenya would appear before Milimani Court in Nairobi today morning around 9:00 pm on the application for habeas corpus and for injunction to deportation for the two men.

Reportedly, Dong Samuel Luak and Aggrey Izbon Idri are being held by police pending deportation without clear charges.

Luak is a prominent lawyer and opposition figure who has spoken out against human rights abuses in South Sudan.

Aggrey is a chairman of the SPLM-IO committee for humanitarian affairs under rebel leader Riek Machar.
