In a month where deadly attacks took lives and devastated families in Manchester, UK, and a fresh wave of violence broke out in the Philippines, we are reminded of the urgent need to work for peace, now more than ever.

Somalia has been declared a war zone. Escalating violence and the looming threat of famine could push more people to desperation.

Young people are at risk of turning to violent armed groups, just as a means to get some food or a little money.
