Warring parties in Sudan released more than 300 detainees in March. The rebel SPLM-N first repatriated to Khartoum 127 people captured in fighting. Days later the government followed with the release of 193 fighters from a different rebel movement – the Darfur-based Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) – and waived the death penalty against 66 others.
