Fellow HistComm members:
The notice below is in the November 16 Town Reminder. At the November 6 Selectboard meeting, I was asked what would happen if the Selectboard received fewer than seven volunteers. I said that I believed that it would receive at least seven, because I would encourage all the Historical Commission to volunteer, and I believed that they would do so. I told the Selectboard I hoped it would receive twenty or more volunteers so it would have a good group from which to choose seven.
I have sent the attached letter, to volunteer. Please send a similar letter. I will send a solicitation to the Historical Society. Please forward this email to people you know who are “architectural historians, historians, landscape architects, lawyers, residents or property owners in potential districts, business owners and chamber of commerce members, public relations professionals, Planning Board members, Conservation Commission members, open space advocates, institutional property owners, real estate professionals, building contractors or tradespersons, affordable housing advocates, or elderly housing advocates.” Include a personal message encouraging such a person to join you in volunteering to serve on the Historic District Study Committee.
