I have an issue with an web applications which has also audio/video
capabilities. The application is designed to support 200 up to 1000
logged in users at a time. All web application's features should work
fine and I have a problem in testing the audio/video capability.
For example I would need to know that video is fully received by the
200 users, that audio is not delayed for any user, that what an user
says is fully received by the other 199 users, that if more users
speak their messages are received by the others in the correct order,
etc.
Of course I don't have 200 friend to test this for me :). So I come to
you guys to advise me, how am I supposed to test this ? Are there any
tools which can do this specific job ? Any automation capabilities ?
Any idea is welcome :).
Thanks,
C.
The way we generate load is with a tool that simulates it. I have used
JMeter to create load. It only takes a bit of learning. I suspect that
you could get some help from your programmers if you are having
trouble. The main idea is you would use this to create the connections
and then you could use a real browser to see what's happening as well.
I don't know how you would verify that all users are in sync though.
That's where you'd need help from your programmers.
