Configuration Specialist
Silver Spring MD

The Configuration Managers main purpose shall be to facilitate the
staff’s concurrent access to program resources (hardware, software,
test platforms, field configurations, documentation, licenses, etc.)
for continual development of VistA Imaging application. Configuration
management activities shall involve the planning and management,
configuration identification (including baselining), configuration
control, configuration status accounting, audit and verification, and
recovery of systems.

This individual is responsible for managing the migration of software
and documentation between the development, testing, and production
environments. Other responsibilities will include development and
management of systems of recovery for the code sources of the current
& previous versions of the software. The individual will also assist
in the development of the Configuration Management procedures,
maintain Change Request records and assist in maintaining the
Configuration Management Plan. The Configuration Manager will provide
metrics reporting to the delivery team and clients as needed.

• Minimum of two (2) years Configuration Management experience.
• Experience with Visual Source Safe, ClearCase, and CVS or other
Configuration Management tools
• Three (3) or more years experience in a team IT environment with
configuration management / control responsibilities.
• Understanding of configuration management concepts and disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to meet commitments in a large IT project
environment.
• Ability to coordinate release strategies with Project Managers.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in
a high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and performance driven.
• Keen attention to details, quality and schedule commitments.
• Experience with Medical Imaging/Health Information systems.
• Experience with system’s technical environments is desirable.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nonessential Skills Desired:
While not mandatory, the following are desirable:

•Demonstrated understanding of enterprise architecture modeling
concepts
•Virtualization, VMware experience preferred
•Scripting experience

Hardware/Software Packages:

• MUMPS, JAVA, Delphi, C++
• XML
• Microsoft Office – MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, PowerPoint

Bachelors Degree and 5+ year’s industry experience
