Carolina New Years Eve report & upcoming

Members from both Carolinas as well as Georgia made plans to travel to
the SC Midlands to bring in the New Year. The first attendee arrived
at about 4, allowing for lots of snacking and socializing before
driving to the restaurant. The food at Bone Fish Grill is superb.

Revelers returned back to the Hopkins, SC property in time to sit a
spell before 2011 was greeted. Champagne and sparkling grape juice
were available.

The next event is the Travelites’ sponsored East Coast Chili Cookoff
on Saturday, January 15th at Serendipity, just 90 minutes northeast of
Atlanta, and you don’t have to go to Atlanta to get there. So far we
have 3 Travelites judges. When we arrive on Friday, we will ask others
who might be available to help select the winner who will be given the
official commemorative cookoff bathsheet. We will also be bringing
other prizes for the other entries plus, of course, the certificates
and winners’ medals as have been presented in the past.

The first at-home event of the New Year is the First Hot Tub and
Potluck party on January 22nd in Hopkins, SC starting @ 4. We will
be serving Beef Roast au jus @ 6:30. Attendees are asked to bring
sides, accompaniments, or desserts. So far, we know that one member
will be bringing macaroni and cheese. Others are asked to bring side
dishes and desserts.

This will be followed on February 12th in Ridgeway, SC with the first
Oyster Roast of the new year. It will also be our Valentines’
celebration. Small plush souvenirs will be given to those in
attendance.

Mexican Theme Potluck supper at 6:30
Annual auction fundraiser for SisterCare, NAC, AANR Education
Foundation, and the American Nudist Research Library begins and
continues at each event until Travelites’ Patriots’ Party in Sept.

May 29th - Memorial Day Weekend – maybe at Sunair

Jun 11th - Travelites 25th Birthday Party, Hopkins
