Members arrived at Sunair in Graniteville, SC from around GA as well
as both Carolinas to decorate the clubhouse and put out a very mouth-
watering spread. We munched on a huge variety including steamed
shrimp, meatballs, chicken legs, vegetarian franks/beans, cheese and
meat platters, chips, vegetable tray/dip plus brownies, doughnuts,
etc.
The weather was mild for most of the day. There was a witch's hat
ring toss available as well as the ping pong table and pool table.
The costumes included: Viking warrior, a queen, hippie, photographer,
infant, doctor, and astronaut among the attendees. Not everyone was in
costume. The contest was won by Mike from Augusta. Pumpkin carving
was done by most, and a few pumpkins escaped the carving. Mike also
won the most unique carved pumpkin contest. He was awarded a Halloween
ceramic mug and a tumbler for his efforts. Souvenir plush black cats,
bears, and vampire dogs were given out. Since this was the 11th
anniversary of Uncle Henry's passing, a toast was made in his honor.
Thanks to everyone who made this a memorable event.
The next event will be the club's annual Thanksgiving feast at our
property in Hopkins, SC this coming Saturday, November 6. The fun
begins after 4, and we'll start cooking the turkey in the infrared
deep fryer @ 5. The club will provide the bird. So far others will be
making a layered salad, sweet potato casserole. We need possibly,
mashed potatoes, green vegetable, desserts, rolls/butter, whatever you
want to prepare. The hot tub will be available as well as the ladder
toss game and volleyball.
