Hey all…been awhile.

I had a question on audio…I know just enough to be dangerous.

I had a shoot last week in a very old schoolhouse and the audio really roomy/echoey…what filters can I play with to cancel out some of the echo and make this audio a little less roomy sounding. I have the effects in FCP 7.x or I have Soundbooth…Audacity…Soundtrack Pro of course and I think that is it.

Or if anyone is a total protools guru what would you charge to clean up 4-5 3min pieces…some with echo and roomy sound…others with some obnoxious cicadas humming in the background?

Thanks all,

I use a plug-in called DVerb in Protools. Not sure if it works in STP or Auria but here's a link. It's not a magic bullet but it does help clean up this type of situation as best as can be expected. You'll need to make up for what it takes away with some EQ and a compressor.
