Or why not just vacuum seal in a bag and massage it every half hour or so? If you feel adventurous, you could put a vacuum bag in a clothes dryer and tumble it with the heat off. Really, this gadget is just turning the canister for you. It's a one-trick kitchen gadget. A FoodSaver with storage canisters will do just as well.
