Dear Fellow Skaters,

Here’s a reminder of our 2019 Inaugural Skate that will happen this coming Sunday. We’ll start the Inaugural Skate at the White House 10:00 AM. After the skate we’ll have lunch together and have a short WAR meeting at the Capitol Brewing Company Restaurant, 11th & H Sts., N.W. (202-628-2222). We plan to arrive at the Capitol Brewing Company by 12:45 PM, at which time we’ve got the upstairs Brewer’s Room reserved for us. Even if you can’t make it to the skate (bikes are welcome on the skate, BTW), you're still invited to the lunch.

At the meeting we’ll discuss coordination of the following activities:

• Status and plans for the Bill English Memorial Bench

• SkateDC Weekend – May 24-27 (Mo)

• Skate of the Union Marathon Weekend – June 21-23 (Krista & Nat)

• July 4^th Daytime Skate – July 4 (Jesse)

• July 4^th Fireworks Skate – July 4 (Anthony)

• Kent Island Skate – September 14 (David)

• Eastern Shore Skate – Saturday, October 19, rain date October 26 (Mo)

• Indianhead Trail Marathon – Saturday, October 26, rain date Sunday, October 27 (Krista)

• Halloween Skate – October 31 (Anthony)

• National Harbor Skate – December 7 (Dee)

• T-Shirts – Trish

• Friday night skates

• Any other topics that WAR members think we need to discuss

Our route will be an easy 12-mile, relatively flat route with mostly good pavement that we’ll do it at a relaxed pace, starting at the White House at 10:00 am. You can see it at http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7356660.
