Also Britta brought up the idea for doing Jummah [Muslim mass on friday usually at around one pm] and occupying and having a pray in in or around a metro station with the ad. I volunteer myself to lead Jummah if no one else wants to do it. The  format is a lecture and then a short Muslim prayer.

• 2. #OccupyVA has doing a weekday occupation at the Department of Veteran's Affairs bringing to light the way veteran's are treated in this country. Food helps, one person's food stamps can't supply them forever. [They are right across from McPherson and the White House] and they are finishing up their second week of occupation. There is also a teach-in/event this Sunday at the Peace House from 6-9pm

Hey Ilana- do you know if there was going to be any other action regarding these ads in addition to the petition? I think I saw another email about them. I'm outraged that they exist and are coming to DC- I'm willing to do anything to show that they are not welcome in our city. please let me know if anything else goes down, and thanks for forwarding this info to the discussion list!!

Dear Friends,  In response to the hateful ads running in the DC Metro, we have begun circulating a petition to the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority. American Muslims are important members of the Washington metro region through their service in government, as volunteers, as doctors, teachers and neighbors. These men, women and children must not be put in a position where a simple trip to their place of work, their house of worship, or the grocery store would simultaneously be an experience of condemnation.
