Defend the Dream: Youth "Die-In" and March on ALEC's Headquarters
On Friday August 23rd, as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. King's famous, "I Have a Dream" speech, young activists and leaders from across the country will march and stage a "die-in" at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia to call broad attention to ALEC’s efforts to limit our freedoms and threaten our livelihoods.
In addition to our "Die In" we will hand deliver a letter to ALEC demanding, "LET US LIVE," and an end to the following attacks on our future.
We are marching to ALEC on the eve of the National March on Washington to dramatize their unrelenting attacks on our future by engaging in non-violent direct action and to inform the community about their secret network of corporate-backers. We will also show ALEC our depth of commitment to dismantle their corporate base of support nationally by exposing the impact of their model legislation.
Join us, on Friday, August 23rd as we stand our ground against ALEC! Can we count on you?
