We are looking for a housemate who cares about themselves, others, and the planet. We have a room for someone who is aware of what is happening in the world, and is doing what they can to help make a difference in protecting the environment, supporting social justice, learning to change and grow themselves, and/or creating a sense of community in their lives.

This is a well-kept, attractive bedroom fully furnished with a bed, dresser, shelves, desk, lamp, large closet, and hardwood floor. We have flexibility in the furnishings, so if you need an extra bookcase, or have your own chair, we can accommodate that. This is in safe, quiet, beautiful neighborhood in a well-kept non-smoking home.
Occupancy is limited to
ONE PERSON only.

No smokers, please.

We do not have specific expectations of a housemate in terms of time or activities, but we want someone who values and can make use of the connections and opportunities we can offer, and sees their lifework as making a conscious and positive contribution to help heal the earth and the people in it (including themselves!).

We are a friendly and diverse group, mixed gender, low key, socially aware, and actively involved with liberal and progressive projects. This includes a wide range of concerns, including personal growth workshops, social enterprise, environmental action, conflict resolution, promoting international understanding, and more.

The house is in excellent condition, and is in a beautiful setting, facing a 350 acre park with tennis courts, recreational areas, soccer fields, basketball courts, formal gardens, and miles of hiking trails and bike paths through unspoiled nature. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Ballston Metro is just over a mile-- a five minute bus ride (the bus stop is one block away), ten minute bike ride, or 20-25 minute walk. 10 minute drive to DC. Close to shopping & public pool. Dishwasher, washer, dryer, ultra high-speed internet included. Share fully-equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace. Central air conditioning, street parking.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets.

Rent includes all utilities. Also, we request that housemates not keep alcohol in the house.

A lease for a year or more would be $650 per month. 7-12 month lease is $700 per month. A 3-6 month lease is available at $750 per month. We will sometimes consider a shorter term than 3 months; call if you are interested.

There is another room also available.

Please respond to this ad with a brief description of yourself, a phone number, and best times to call you.

Call Michael at 703-755-0607 from
8 am to 11:30 pm, or   mic...@rios.org
