Call for nominations
Dear SINO-ECO Members and Friends:
To promote the recognition of students and young investigators from our association, we are calling for nominations and self-nominations for the 2023 SINO-ECO Awards.
(A) About the Awards
The SINO-ECO Awards are designed to recognize the research excellence of next-generation ecologists originally from China. A total of four winners, two for current students, and the other two for early-career scientists within five years of graduation, will be selected. The committee pays particular attention to empirical research when making the decisions so two of the awards will focus on empirical research. Each of them will receive a $150 cash prize and formal recognition by SINO-ECO. The funding support will come from the SINO-ECO annual budget.
(B) Eligibility of nominees
(1) The nominee should be an active SINO-ECO member of the current year. The SINO-ECO Treasurer/Membership Administrator maintains a list of active members. You may join us on our website https://sino-eco.org/become-a-member/.
(2) The nominee should currently be a student for the Best Student Paper award and an early career scientist within five years of graduation for the Best Young Investigator Paper Award.
(3) The paper must be published or in press from January 1, 2022 to July 30, 2023.
(3) The nominee should be the first author of the paper.
(4) Papers that received SINO-ECO award in previous years are not eligible.
(5) The nominee should not be a member of the SINO-ECO 2023 Best Student & Young Investigator Paper Award Committee.
(C) Application materials
A single PDF document containing the following:
(1) the paper;
(2) one-page statement, written by the nominee, that highlights the significance of the paper;
(3) one- to two-page Curriculum Vitae of the nominee.
(D) Application and Deadline
The application must be sent by e-mail to both Dr. Lixin Wang (lxw...@iupui.edu) and Dr. Jiafu Mao (s ma...@ornl.gov) at the same time (two email addresses in one message). The deadline to submit the application package via e-mail is 5 pm on July 30, 2023 (EST). The winners will be announced by mid-August, 2023.
