You guys should be proud of making a classic piece of software.
ShiftSpace will go down in history books.

Some of us are actually working on similar attempts, but since there's a core disagreement about how to move forward these newer experiments would probably not happen under the ShiftSpace umbrella. This is probably a good thing.
Are you interested in metaweb development yourself?
But I'd be curious to hear what everyone is up to these days! I know Mushon has been busy with Project Yotam as well as the Wikipedia Illustrated project...
Personally, I've just finished work on a project that uses an independent wifi base station to rich media to an internet dead zone (i.e., dial-up only) in the Catskills mountains. I'm calling it "situated net art." And trying to build a hackerspace in my studio.

The JavaScript and browser extension landscape has changed dramatically and a lot of ShiftSpace's internals both old and new are now obsolete.
But there's no better time to start over then now! Many of the hurdles for a very good cross platform implementation of ShiftSpace or something like it have been removed and there are many interesting developments with similar goals (Telehash, Locker Project).

Sad news on the MoMA social bar front -- not only did phase 2 get pushed back into oblivion, but the bar itself will most likely be going away. :P
-Dan
Well 3 years is not a bad run for something we originally built in 4 months.
David
I'm totally down for beer.
Sure, I have beer here, but I think it would be less fun for you.
Unless it's in the studio and not too late…

If we do want to hack at all I can offer my studio as a possibility. It's close to the M train, although deeper into Bushwick. David's place is fine with me too.
-Dan
I think it makes more sense for you guys to get beers together. Partying in Skype is lame.
If this makes you feel like hacking together again I'd love to
join & drink remotely. ;)
cheers,
-Joe
Also, the Facebooks tell me that Hairy Sands has a gig tomorrow night. It sounds like they're going on early enough for homebodies like myself...
