I’ve been looking through the 1871 cenus. We know James, Margaret, James Delaney, and Martin were in Chorlton Upon Medlock, enumeration district 48. It looks like they live on apsen key lane.
I found a 3 year old Margaret Ann *Donovan* living with two parents and a 3 month old baby. She is listed as a daughter. They live in Manchester, All Souls ecclesiastical district, New Cross Ward neighborhood. On a map, All Souls rectory is about 1 mile or 1.5 miles from modern Chorlton Upon Medlock. The most significant thing is that Daniel Donovan, the father is a “stone mason’s laboror – pension in fort night”. Not sure what the pension is, but we know James Simon is a mason.
I think it’s a good chance that it’s our Margaret Ann, it lets us know where she was at least. Maybe she at 2.5 was still nursing? Or just staying with them? We know for sure that she is our ancestor’s daughter, so I just though tit would be nice to know where she was.
