A suicide bomber killed at least 58 people today in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq between the two holy shrines. The suicide bomber deliberately blew himself up in a car as worshippers were heading for the evening prayers.
With our strongest voice of condemnation and detest, we abhor the continued loss of innocent lives being perpetrated against the Iraqi people, and in particular, the followers of Ahlul-Bayt.
From Allah we come and to Him we return.
Within this savagery, it is most unfortunate to announce that Sayed Mohammad Mahdi al-Qazwini (age 26), paternal cousin of Imam Sayed Moustafa al-Qazwini was included among the martyrs in today’s calamity in Karbala.
We extend our condolences to the honorable and awaited Imam al-Mahdi (as) and our prayers to the respected al-Qazwini family for their tragic loss. We ask Allah (swt) to bestow His mercy, peace, and forgiveness on the martyrs of today’s misfortune in Karbala and to welcome them into Paradise. We also ask the Almighty to bring tranquility and endurance to the families of the victims and to send peace to the land of Iraq. |
