PARTY INVITE and BOOK SALE

It's been a while since I last had people over -- and also I'm running out of space on my book shelves.

So, killing two birds with one stone, I'm throwing a book sale and party this Saturday night.

The book sale starts at 4 p.m. Come and buy trashy pre-read novels for 10 RMB each. Mysteries. Romance (not mine, I swear). Science fiction. And some never-read "serious" books. Some of these books are left over from when we had a book exchange going, back before Chaterhouse came to Shanghai. Later in the night, if any books are left over, you can probably name your price.

(If you want to bring some books over and join in on the selling fun, feel free.)

The party itself will start around 8 p.m., though, as usual, if you'd like to come over early and help us cook, please do so!

We'll have plenty of food (the Russian heritage in me), with particular emphasis on potato and pasta salads. And lots of alcohol. You can feel free to bring drinks or dessert, if you want to bring something, but you really don't need to.

Note: We will not be giving away any kittens at this party. I know you've all come to expect to be hit up to adopt animals at my house, but we're now down to just our core two cats (and one dog). So, unless more kittens show up at our doorstep between now and Saturday, you're safe.

As always, I'm looking for writers and copyeditors, so if you know anyone who's interested in trying their hand at journalism, bring them along. I'm looking for columnists, as well, and we'll teach you everything you need to know about how to do this.

Yes, business is going well -- very, very well. Just ask me about our vision statement!

Where: Maria Trombly's apartment at 555 Xizang Nan Lu (also known as Tibet Lu), Building 5, Apartment 2206.
            (This is on the north corner of Xizang Nan Lu and Fuxing Lu, right behind the Shen Garden Hotel.)

What to bring: Yourself and your friend. There will be plenty of food and beer.
            If you insist on bringing something, wine and dessert are always very much appreciated!
