Subject: English version of Viduy for women
To: jemsem <
jem...@lists.jemsem.org>
Dear Friends
- When saying Viduy, there is a special merit to be as detailed as possible (see, for example, Rambam, Teshuva 1:1)
- The Chidah and the father of the Shelah wrote popular extensive Viduys that included many transgressions that are hard to relate to.
- Rav Moshe Shternbuch shlit"a rewrote them in a simplified "immediately accessible" form. However it is very male-centric (transgressions with women, wasting time when studying Torah etc.)
- I rewrote it for women with Rav Shternbuchs consent and guidance.
- It has been designed so that it can be printed on two sides of one A4 paper. It should then be folded along the columns concertina style for easy use.
Here you have the English version of the Woman's version of Rav Shternbuch's version of the viduy of the Chidah.
Thanks you Miss Dina Rand, Miss Miriam Selinger and Mrs Donna Zeffren for your efforts.
Also thank you for those who sent me other versions - they were all excellent.
I am sending you five options:
- pdf version
- word version
- Rav Feigenbaums's version which is abridged for High School girls
- OU version - not connected to Rav Shternbuch's version - by Rav Shmuel Miller of Boston
- The original Chida version in English translated by Rav Moshe Lazarus of Ohr Somayach (thank you Aaron Larson)
- pdf version in Tahoma font - possibly a little clearer and more modern font
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANYONE WHO COULD BENEFIT!
Now all that's left for us to do is actually say the viduy from our hearts this Yom Kippur!
May Hashem answer all your tefillos.
A gmar chasima tova
Menachem Nissel
