Richard III female actor

Not too long ago, I saw a university production of
Richard III with Richard played by a female. It
was a mixed production, with some of the other
roles, such as Catesby, also played by females.

When she first came onstage, I thought--oh, no,
the male actor got ill, and they couldn't find
anyone else--but no, it was all deliberate, and,
you know, she did an excellent job.

Richard III Society, and there is a nice online
edition of Shakespeare's play there with lots of
