[1] MARRIAGE WAS DESIGNED TO BE ENJOYABLE, A BLESSING, A SOURCE OF
JOYFUL HAPPINESS AND A TREASURE
***Enjoy life with the wife you love all the days of your fleeting
life, which has been given to you under the sun, all your fleeting
days. For that is your portion in life and in your struggle under
the sun.
Ecclesiastes 9:8-10 HSV
***3 Your wife will be as fruitful
as a grapevine,
and just as an olive tree
is rich with olives,
your home will be rich
with healthy children.
4 That is how the LORD will bless
everyone who respects him. CEV Psa 128
***Proverbs 5:17-19 Be happy with the wife you married when you were
young. She gives you joy, . . . 12:3-5 An excellent wife is the
crown of her husband, . . . 18:21-23 A man who finds a wife finds
good and obtains favor from the LORD. . . . 19:13-15 a prudent wife
is from the LORD. . . 31:9-11 An excellent wife who can find? She is
far more precious than jewels.
[2] GOD HAS ESTABLISHED A SOCIAL
ORDER<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
***1 Cor 11:2 Now I commend you because you remember me in
everything and maintain the traditions even as I
delivered them to you, 3 and I wish you to know that of every man
the Head is the Christ, and the head of a wife is her husband, and
the Head of Christ is God. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies
with his head covered disgraces/dishonors/shames his head[, Christ];
5 but any wife who prays or prophesies with her head
uncovered disgraces/dishonors/shames her head[, her husband]. . . .
7 For indeed a man . . . is the image and glory of God, but the
woman is the glory of the man. 8 For man was not made from
woman, but woman from man; 9 and indeed man was not created for
the sake of the woman but woman for the sake of the man. . . 10 This
is why a woman should have a symbol of authority on her head,
because of the angels.
11 Nevertheless, in union with the Lord
neither is woman independent of man nor is man independent of woman;
12 for just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman,
and all things come from God.
T: The "symbol of authority on her head" can take the form of a hat,
cap, hair band, scarf or veil. An American woman can wear a hat,
cap, scarf, hair band or bandana as a "symbol of authority on
her head"
without violating female American cultural norms. From this we see
that Jesus has appointed roles and a hierarchy in male and female
relationships. Angels are authorized to punish sinners (Acts 12:23).
Angels are under the authority of God, know it and act accordingly;
so they know wives are under their husband's authority
and expect them to act accordingly. The angels are watching us
to see what God is doing in our lives and learn about the
nature and character of God (1 Cor 4:9; Ephes 3:9,10; Heb 1:13-14;
12:1-2). If the wife or the husband does not submit to and
obey the directions of Jesus, just as the angels were used to punish
the defiant Egyptians, they can be used to discipline people
(1 Cor 11:30-34; 1 Tim 5:21; Hebrews 12; Revelation 8; 9:15;
14:14-19; 16:1-17).
***Ephes 5:23 A husband is the head of his wife, as Christ is the
head and the Savior of the church, which is His own body. 24
But as the church submits itself to Christ, so also wives should
submit themselves<5293> in everything to their husbands. +++

T: It is significant that Jesus chose only males to be His
Apostles, His designated representatives on earth and to the Church;
that Jesus ordained that only men should be the elders,
bishops, leaders, deacons etc of the Church (1 Timothy 3 Titus 1);
that Jesus forbade wives from dominating, bossing, discipling,
having and using authority over husbands (1 Tim 2:11,12; 1 Peter
3:1-6). From 1 Corinthians 11 above we see the following:
1*The Head of a husband is Christ.
1*The head of a wife is her husband.
2*It disgraces, shames and dishonors Christ for the man who
prays or teaches and has a symbol of some other authority on/over
his head other than Christ.
2*A wife disgraces, shames and dishonors her husband if she
prays or teaches and does not have some symbol showing that she is
under her husband's authority.
3*A man is the image and glory of God
3*The wife is the glory of her husband.
4* The husband is dependent on the wife.
4* The wife was created for the sake of the husband.
5* The husband depends on the wife, his God given helper.
5* The wife depends on the husband, the one she is given to
help.
6* Now men come by birth through the woman.
6* Originally the wife was created from the man.
T: The wife's responsibility is [1] like the Bereans (Acts
17:10-12), to test, try, examine and scrutinize (1 Thess 5:21)
what the husband is teaching her and asking her to do for her
to see if she can obey it without disobeying God's Word and
then hold on tight to what she has found to be in
agreement with God's Word(1 Thess 5:21); and [2] to
humbly and respectfully refrain from doing anything her husband asks
her to do that is evil, sinful or wrong (Ephes 5:7-11) or about
which she has genuine doubts about it being right and acceptable to
God (Romans 14:19-23). In the event the
wife chooses to not do what her husband asks her to do,
the Word instructs him to do the following: Galatians 6:1; 2
Tim 2:24-26; Matthew 18:15-17; and 1 Corinthians 5:3-5,11.
***Rom 13:1 Every person must be in subjection<5293> to
the governing authorities for there is no authority except from God,
and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore
whoever rebels against and resists the authority has
opposed and rebelled against the ordinance instituted by God;
and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon
themselves. . . . 5 Wherefore you must needs be in
subjection<5293>, not only because of the wrath, but also for
conscience’ sake.NASB, NIV
<Strong's 5293> uJpota>ssw, — hoop-ot-as’-so; to
subordinate; reflexive to obey: — be under obedience
(obedient), put under, subdue unto, (be, make) subject (to, unto),
be (put) in subjection (to, under), submit self unto;
be obedient, put [oneself] under, be subject to, be in subjection
to, submit oneself to
T: So for employees, students, citizens in court, it looks
like this: 1 Every employee, student, citizen in court must be
in subjection<5293> to the governing authorities [at work, in
school/college, in the court] for there is no authority except from
God, and those [authorities] who exist are established by
God. 2 Therefore whatever [employee, student, citizen in
court] rebels against and resists the [employer's,
instructor's, judge's] authority has opposed and rebelled
against the ordinance instituted by God; and the [employee,
student, citizen in court] who has opposed [the authority
instituted by God] will receive condemnation upon themselves. . . .
5 Wherefore an [employee, student, citizen in court] must
needs be in subjection<5293>[to those appointed by God
to be in authority over them], not only because of the wrath [of
God], but also for conscience’ sake
T: So for wives it looks like this: 1 Every wife must be in
subjection<5293> to the governing authorities [God has placed
over them, husbands, or under whom they have put themselves]
for there is no authority except from God, and those [authorities]
who exist are established by God. 2 Therefore whatever
[wife] rebels against and resists the [husband's] authority
has opposed and rebelled against the ordinance
instituted by God; and the [wives] who have opposed [the
husband's authority instituted by God] will receive condemnation
upon themselves. . . . 5 Wherefore a [wife] must needs be in
subjection<5293>[to her husband who has been appointed over
her by God], not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’
sake
T: The wife's responsibility is [1] like the Bereans (Acts
17:10-12), to test, try, examine and scrutinize (1 Thess 5:21)

do what her husband asks her to do, the Word instructs him to
do the following: Galatians 6:1; 2 Tim 2:24-26; Matthew 18:15-17;
and 1 Corinthians 5:3-5,11.
***Hebrews 13:17 Obey<3982> your leaders and
submit<5226> to them, for they keep watch over your
souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do
this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for
you.
(3982) pei>qw, — pi’-tho; a primary verb; reflexive or
passive to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward
certainty): — agree, assure, believe, have confidence,
be (wax) confident, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.
(5226) uJpei>kw, — hoop-i’-ko; from (5259) to surrender: —
submit self.
T: Just as this applies to the appointed and official leaders in the
local assembly of believers, as they lead that local group, it also
applies to the husband whose appointed authority the wife has
accepted when she married him. If she doesn't want to be under the
authority of a husband, she shouldn't marry. The husband is under
Jesus' command to teach and disciple his wife (Matthew
28:9,10). The wife is instructed NOT to teach or
disciple her husband (1 Tim 2:11,12; 1 Peter 3:1-6). The wife's
responsibility is [1] like the Bereans (Acts 17:10-12),
to test, try, examine and scrutinize (1 Thess 5:21) what the husband
is teaching her and asking her to do for her to see if
she can obey it without disobeying God's Word and then hold on
tight to what she has found to be in agreement with God's Word(1
Thess 5:21); and [2] to humbly and respectfully refrain
from doing anything her husband asks her to do that is evil, sinful
or wrong (Ephes 5:7-11) or about which she has genuine doubts about
it being right and acceptable to God (Romans 14:19-23). In the event
the wife chooses to not do what her husband asks
her to do, the Word instructs him to do the following:
Galatians 6:1; 2 Tim 2:24-26; Matthew 18:15-17; and 1 Corinthians
5:3-5,11.
[3] THE HUSBAND'S
RESPONSIBILITY<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
1 Peter 3:7 husbands likewise, dwell with according to
knowledge<1108>, as with a weaker, the female, vessel, giving
honour<5092> to the wife [as being valued as precious], as
also fellow-heirs of grace of life, that your prayers be not
hindered. . . . 5:1 . . . I exhort the elders among you: 2
shepherd God's flock among you, . . . 3 not domineering and
lording<2634> it over those entrusted to you, controlling and
subjugating them, [those] allotted to your charge, but being
examples and pattern<5179> to the flock. HCSB, NASB, AmpB,
ESV, NKJV, Strong's Lexicon
<Strong's1108> gnw~siv, — gno’-sis; knowing (the act), i.e.
(by implication) knowledge: — knowledge, science.
<5092> timh>, — tee-may’; a value, i.e. money paid, or
(concretely and collective) valuables; by analogy esteem (especially
of the highest degree), or the dignity itself: —
honour, precious, price, some.
<Strong's 2634> katakurieu>w, — kat-ak-oo-ree-yoo’-o;
to lord against, i.e. control, subjugate: — exercise dominion over
(lordship), be lord over, overcome.
<Strong's 5179> tu>pov, — too’-pos; specially a sampler
(“type”), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning): —
en- (ex-) ample, fashion, figure, form, manner, pattern, print.
***Ephes 5:25* Married men, [kindly, patiently, gently, unselfishly,
calmly, humbly, enduringly and perseveringly*] LOVE* your wives, as
Christ also [kindly, patiently, gently, unselfishly, calmly, humbly,
enduringly and perseveringly*] LOVED* the Church and gave Himself up
to death for her; 26 in order to set it apart for God,
cleansing her with the washing of [the living^] water by the Word..
. 28 So too married men ought to [kindly, patiently, gently,
unselfishly, calmly, humbly, enduringly and perseveringly*] LOVE*
their wives as much as they [kindly, patiently, gently, unselfishly,
calmly, humbly, enduringly and perseveringly] LOVE* themselves. He
who [kindly, patiently, gently, unselfishly, calmly, humbly,
enduringly and perseveringly] LOVES* his wife [kindly, patiently,
gently, unselfishly, calmly, humbly, enduringly and perseveringly*]
LOVES* himself. . . 33 Yet I insist that among you also, each man is
to [kindly, patiently, gently, unselfishly, calmly, humbly,
enduringly and perseveringly*] LOVE* his own wife as much as he
[kindly, patiently, gently, unselfishly, calmly, humbly, enduringly
and perseveringly*] LOVES* himself, . . . .

***Matthew 28:"19 Go, therefore, and disciple all nations, baptizing
them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
++In marriage terms that appears to mean that the husband should
disciple his wife, relate to her as a teacher does to a student,
teaching his wife to obey everything Jesus has commanded us to do.
It may mean just reading the Bible together and sharing impressions
(Exod 24:7; Deut 17:19; 31:11; Nehemiah 8:8,18).
***Ephes 4: I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, exhort you to
lead a life worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with
all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another
in Love, 3 diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of
peace.
***Romans 12: 9 Love should be genuine. . . . 10 Show family
affection to one another with brotherly love. Outdo one another in
showing honor. 11 Do not lag in zeal; be enthusiastic in spirit;
serve the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation,
devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints,
pursuing hospitality. . . 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do
not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your
own sight. 17 Do not repay anyone evil, harm or injury for evil,
harm or injury. Try to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes. 18
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all
people. 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for
the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will
repay,” says the Lord. . . 21 Do not be overcome by evil or
harm, but overcome evil or harm with good.
***COLOS 3: 12 You are the people of God; He loved you and chose you
for His own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.13 Bear with one
another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint
against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord
has forgiven you.14 And to all these qualities add Love, which binds
all things together in perfect unity.15 The peace that Christ gives
is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace
that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.
"27 “But I say to you who are listening: Kindly, gently, patiently
and unselfishly Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. 28
Ask God to do good to those who ask God to do evil to you, and pray
for those who insult you. 29 If someone hits you on the cheek, offer
him the other one as well, and if someone takes your coat, don’t
keep back your shirt either. 30 Keep on giving [something] to
everyone who asks you [for something], and if anyone takes what is
yours, do not insist on getting it back. 31 Whatever you want people
to do to and for you, do the same to and for them." Luke 6
Luke 22: 25-27 and Matt 20:25-28 combined: And He said to them, “The
rulers and kings of the Gentiles lord<M2634, L2961> it over
them, controlling and subjugating and dominating them; and those who
have and use authority<M2715> over them are called
‘Benefactors,’ and their great men exercise
authority<L1850> over and control them. 26 But it is not this
way with and among you, but the one who is the greatest among you,
or whoever wishes to become great among you must become like the
youngest, and the leader like the servant<1247&1249> [who
attends to others], and whoever wishes to be first among you shall
be your slave<1401>; just as the Son of Man did not come to be
served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who
serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among
you as the one who serves. HCSB, NASB, ESV, AmpB, NKJV, Darby with
Strong's Lexicon
<Strong's 1247> diakone>w, — dee-ak-on-eh’-o; to be
an attendant, i.e. wait upon
<Strong's 1249> dia>konov, — dee-ak’-on-os; an
attendant, i.e. (genitive) a waiter (at table or in other menial
duties);
<Strong's 1401> dou~lov, — doo’-los; a slave (literal or
figurative, involuntary or voluntary; frequently therefore in a
qualified sense of subjection or subserviency): — bond (-man),
servant.
<Strong's 1850> ejxousia>zw, — ex-oo-see-ad’-zo; to
control: — exercise authority upon, bring under the (have) power of.
<Strong's 2634> katakurieu>w, — kat-ak-oo-ree-yoo’-o;
to lord against, i.e. control, subjugate: — exercise dominion over
(lordship), be lord over, overcome.
<Strong's 2715> katexousia>zw, —
kat-ex-oo-see-ad’-zo; to have (wield) full privilege over: —
exercise authority.
<Strong's 2961> kurieu>w, — koo-ree-yoo’-o; to rule:
—have dominion over, lord, be lord of, exercise lordship over.
I hope any husband reading this has learned the message that the
husband is under God's command to NOT control, subjugate, make obey,
cause to be submissive, rule, and/or have dominion over his wife. It
is her free choice to choose to obey and submit herself to her
husband, or to not do so. Our obedience to His Word is the proof
that we are in Christ.
***Heb 5:8 Though a Son, He learned obedience through what He
suffered. 9 After He was perfected, He became the source of
eternal salvation to all who obey Him, HCSB
***John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." NASB
***1 John 2:3 And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if
we keep His commandments. 4 Whoever says "I know Him" but does not
keep His commandments is a liar, and the Truth is not in him, 5 but
whoever keeps His Word, in Him truly the Love of God is perfected.
By this we may know that we are in Him: ESV
The husband who continues to disobey the Word of God should be dealt
with according to Gala 6:1; 2 Tim 2:24-26; Matt 18:15-18; 1 Cor
5:3-5,11; 2 Thess 3:6-14; Rom 16:17,18.
Living in disobedience to His Word without 1 Cor 11:30-32 chastening
(Heb 12) is proof that the one who continues to be disobedient does
not know God
***1 John 3:6 No one who lives in Him [deliberately and knowingly]
keeps on doing sin. No one who [deliberately and knowingly]
continues to do a sin has either seen Him or known Him. 7 Little
children, let no man deceive you: he that keeps on doing
righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. 8 He who
[deliberately and knowingly] continues to do sin is of the devil;
for the devil keeps on sinning from the beginning.
[4] Married Women and Single Women - The
Difference<<<<<<
First of all ladies, please be mindful of the fact that the
instructions to wives given below are not instructions to single
women. If the instructions given to wives below are unpleasant and
objectionable to you, then you should remain single, unmarried and
serve the Lord that way, if you can do so abstaining from sexual
immorality. If you don't abstain consistently from sexual
immorality, then you are under 1 Cor 7:2 and 9 command to be
married.
***1 Cor 7:7 I wish that all people were just like me. But each has
his own gift from God, one this and another that. 8 I say to the
unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am.
9 But if they do not have self-control, they should marry, for
it is better to marry than to burn [with desire].. . . . 17 Only, as
the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this
manner let him walk. And so I direct in all the churches. . . . 24
Brethren, each one is to remain with God in that condition in which
he was called. . . . 26I think then, because of the impending
distress [that is even now setting in], it is well (expedient,
profitable, and wholesome) for a person to remain as he or she is.
27Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be free. Are you free from
a wife? Do not seek a wife. . . . 32 I want you to be free from
anxieties. . . . 34 . . . And the unmarried or betrothed woman
is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and
spirit. HCSB, NASB, ESV, AmpB, NKJV, Darby
[5] THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR
WIVES<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
The wife, as a child of God, a citizen of the Kingdom of God and a
servant of the King, is first instructed to serve and obey Christ.
That includes testing, trying, examining and proving everything her
husband asks her to do, and then doing it for her husband as
if she were doing it for Christ.
***1 Th 5:21but TEST everything; hold fast what is good. ESV
***21 but TEST all things. Hold on to what is good. HCSB
***21But EXAMINE everything carefully; hold fast to that which is
good; NASB
***Ephesians 5:10and try to DISCERN what is pleasing to the Lord.ESV
If her husband asks her disobey her Father in Heaven and her King,
then like Daniel, Abednego & Co, Moses' parents and the apostles
in Acts 4, she respectfully disobeys (Ephes 5:7-11) her
husband's request that she sin and fearlessly she relates to him
according to the Word in 1 Peter 2:20-3:7.
Ephes 5:21 Submit yourselves<5293> to each other in the
reverential fear and awe of Christ 22 A wife should be
submitting<5293> herself to her own husband, as she does to
the Lord. 23 A husband is the head of his wife, as Christ is the
head and the Savior of the church, which is His own body. 24 But as
the church submits itself to Christ, so also wives should submit
themselves<5293> in everything to their husbands..
25 A husband should patiently, kindly, gently,
fairly, humbly, unselfishly, optimistically, politely and
respectfully Love his wife as Christ Loved the church and gave His
life for her, 26 so that He might set her apart exclusively for
Himself, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
27 so that He might present the church to Himself in splendor,
without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy
and without blemish.
28 In the same way, a husband should patiently,
kindly, gently, fairly, humbly, unselfishly, optimistically,
politely and respectfully Love his wife as much as he Loves himself.
A husband who patiently, kindly, gently, fairly, humbly,
unselfishly, optimistically, politely and respectfully Loves his
wife shows that he loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own
flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the
church, 30 because we are each a part of His body. 31 "Therefore a
man shall leave his father and mother and bond to his wife, and the
two shall become one flesh." 32This is a great mystery, and I
am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33 So each
husband should be patiently, kindly, gently, fairly, humbly,
unselfishly, optimistically, politely and respectfully Loving his
wife as much as he Loves himself, and each wife should be honoring
and respecting her husband. HCSB, NASB, ESV, AmpB, NKJV, Darby +++

***1 Cor 14:34 the wives should be quiet in the churches, for they
are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the Law
also says. 35 And if they want to learn something, they should ask
their own husbands at home, for it is disgracefully improper and
shameful for a wife to speak in the church meeting. HCSB, NASB, ESV,

Outdo one another in
showing honor. 11 Do not lag in zeal; be enthusiastic in spirit;
serve the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation,
devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints,
pursuing hospitality. .
Our obedience to His Word is the proof that we are in Christ.
The wife who continues to disobey the Word of God should be dealt
with according to Gala 6:1; 2 Tim 2:24-26; Matt 18:15-18; 1 Cor
5:3-5; Rom 16:17,18.
Living in disobedience to His Word without 1 Cor 11:30-32 chastening
(Heb 12) is proof that the one who continues to be disobedient does
not know God.
8 He who
[deliberately and knowingly] continues to do sin is of the devil;
for the devil keeps on sinning from the beginning.
[6] FINANCES, SPENDING AND BUDGETING
Acts 2: "44 And all who believed were together and had all
things shared [by all]. 45 And they sold their possessions
and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone
had need. 46 And continuing with one accord in the temple,
and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food with
gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having
favor with all the people. . . ."
In marriage that looks like this: The believing couple were together
and shared
all things. And they distributed their possessions and goods to each
other
according as each had need. They shared their food with gladness and
simplicity
of heart.
2 Corinth 8:7 Now as you excel in everything—faith, speech,
knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love for us—excel also
in this grace. . . . 11 . . . there was a readiness to desire it, so
there also may be a completion out of what you have. 12 For if
there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one
has, and not according to what he does not have. 13 It is not that
there may be relief for others and hardship for you, but it is a
question of equality and fair reciprocity— 14 at the present time
your surplus is available for their need, so their abundance may
also become available for our need, so there may be equality and
fair reciprocity. 15 As it has been written:
The person who gathered much
did not have too
much,
and the person who gathered little
did not have too little.
. . .
***1 John 3:3:16 We know what Love is — through Christ’s having laid
down His life on our behalf; and in the same way we ought to lay
down our lives for our brother men. 17 But if any one has this
world’s wealth and sees that his fellow disciple is in need, and yet
hardens his heart against him — how can God's Love reside in him? 18
Dear children, we should not Love in words only nor with the lips,
but in deed and in Truth. 19 And in this way we shall come to know
that we are loyal to the Truth, and shall satisfy our consciences in
His presence . . . .
2 Corinth 9:7 Each person should do as he has decided in his
heart—not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful
giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so
that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may
abound in every good work. . . . 11 You will be enriched in every
way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through
us. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the
needs of the saints, but is also overflowing in many acts of
thanksgiving to God. . . . 13 By their approval of this
service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes
from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of
your contribution for them and for all others, . . .
Acts 4: "32 ¶ And the multitude of those who believed
were of one heart and one soul. And not one said that any of
the things which he possessed was his own, but they shared all
things in common. 33 . . . And great grace was on
them all.
34 For neither was anyone needy among them, for as many as
were owners of lands or houses sold [them] and brought the
prices of the [things] that were sold, 35 and they laid [them]
down at the apostles' feet. And distribution was made to every
man according as he had need."
In marriage that looks like this: They believed and were of one
heart and soul, and neither said that any of the things which each
possessed was her/his own, but shared all things in common.
Distribution was made to each other according to each's need.
[7] MARITAL SEX
***1 Corinth 7: 1* ¶ But concerning the things of which you
have written to me: It is good for a male not to continue -keep on -
touching a woman; 2 but because of [and to avoid] sexual immorality
each man should be [sexually] having his own<1438> woman, and
each woman should be [sexually] having her own<2398> man.
T: These are God's commands, so if the husband isn't sexually having
his own woman, the wife is still under command to be sexually having
her own man, or at least to be making a good effort to try to do so.
***Prov. "5:18 Your fountain should be blessed; and rejoice and be
glad with the wife of your youth. 19 . . . her breasts should
satisfy/intoxicate/saturate you at all times; you should be
intoxicated continually with her affectionate loving."
T: That means the wife lets the husband know that he is welcome to
delight in her breasts, that she encourages and allows him to
satisfy/intoxicate/saturate himself by means of her breasts, that he
is welcome to delight in her affectionate loving, and that she
encourages and allows him to be intoxicated continually with her
affectionate loving.
***1 Cor 7:3 The husband should be rendering unto the wife [the]
kindness, intimate marital duty, benevolence and good will
<Strong's 2133> [that is] due, owed and obligated
<Strong's 3784> ; and likewise also the wife [should be
rendering the kindness, intimate marital duty, benevolence and
good will that is due, owed and obligated] unto the husband.
***Eccles 9:9 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days
of this vainly fleeting life that God has given you [in your body]
under the sun— all your vainly fleeting days. For this is your lot
in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.
***1 Cor 7:4. The woman doesn't have [sexual] authority over her own
body, but the husband [does]; in like manner also the man doesn't
have [sexual] authority over his own body, but the woman [does]. 5
Do not be denying each other [sexually], unless, it may be, by
consent for a time, that you may devote yourselves to fasting and
prayer, and again be conjugally cohabiting [sexually reuniting],
that Satan might not tempt you because of your failure to control
yourself.
From the Bible's Song of Solomon
Song 1:2 [Wife] He should kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your loving is better than wine; . . .3.Your ointments
smell sweetly; . . 1:4. Lead [me], drawing
me along! . . .
5: 13 My lover is to me a sachet of myrrh
resting
between my breasts.
2:6 [Wife]His left hand is under my head,
and his right hand embraces me!
17 Until the day breathes
and the shadows flee,
turn, my beloved, be like a gazelle
or a young stag on cleft mountains [her breasts].
3:4[WIFE] Scarcely had I passed them
when I found him whom my soul loves.
I held him, and would not let him go . . . .
4: [HUSBAND] 1Behold, you are beautiful, my love,
behold, you are beautiful [to me]! . . .
5 Your two breasts are like two fawns,
like twin fawns of a gazelle
that browse among the lilies.
6 Until the day breaks
and the shadows flee,
I will go to the mountain of
myrrh [one of her breasts]
and to the hill of incense [her
other breast ]. . . .
10How beautiful is your loving, my sister, my
bride!
How much better is your loving than
wine,
and the fragrance of your oils than any
spice!
11Your lips drip nectar, my bride;
honey and milk are under your
tongue;
the fragrance of your garments is
like the fragrance of Lebanon. . .
13 Your branches [arms and legs] are a
paradise of pomegranates
with choicest fruits,
henna with nard—
14 nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon,
with all the trees of
frankincense,
myrrh and aloes,
with all the best spices
[available at most supermarkets].
[WIFE]4:16 Awaken, north wind—
come, south wind.
Blow on my garden [her body],
and spread the fragrance of its spices.
My love should come to his garden [HER]
and eat its choicest fruits.
5:[HUSBAND] 1 I have come to my garden—my sister, my bride.
I gather my myrrh with my spices.
I eat my honeycomb with my honey.
I drink my wine with my milk. . . .
[WIFE] 5 I rose to open for my love.
My hands dripped with myrrh,
my fingers with flowing myrrh . . .
[WIFE]16 His mouth is sweetness.
He is absolutely desirable. . . .
7: [HUSBAND]
6 How beautiful you are and how pleasing,
O love, with your delights!
7 Your stature is like that of the palm,
and your breasts like clusters
of fruit.
8 I said, "I will climb the palm tree;
I will take hold of its fruit
[her breasts]."
May your breasts be like the
clusters of the vine,
the fragrance of your breath
like apples,
8:[WIFE] 3 His left hand is under my head,
and his right hand embraces me. . . .
14 Come away, my lover,
and be like a gazelle
or like a young stag
on the spice-laden mountains
[her breasts].
From the Bible's Esther
Esther 2: 9 The girl pleased him and won his favor. Immediately he
provided her with her beauty treatments and special food. . . . 12
Before a girl's turn came to go in to King Xerxes, she had to
complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the
women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and
cosmetics.
[8] THE WORD FOR SINGLES
***1 COR 7: . . . .6and this I say by way of concession -- not of
command, 7 for I wish all men to be even as I myself [am]; but
each has his own gift of God, one indeed thus, and one thus. 8To the
unmarried and the widows [5503 = women bereft of a husband] I say
that it is good for them to remain single as I am. 9 But if they are
not [Strong's 3756] continuing to restrain themselves
[by abstaining from sex sin (Strong's 1467) ], they should
marry, for it is better to marry than to burn [with
desire]. 10 I command the married —not I, but the Lord—a
[believing] wife is not to leave, depart or separate from [Strong's
5563] her [believing] husband. 11 But if she does leave,
depart, and/or separate [Strong's 5563], she must remain
unmarried<Strong's 22> or be reconciled to her husband— . . .
17However, each one must live his life in the situation the Lord
assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the
churches. . . 20 After God calls [saves] him, everyone should remain
in the station or condition of life [married, divorced, separated,
remarried, etc] in which the summons [salvation of God] found
him. . . . 24 Brethren, each one is to remain with God in that
condition [married, divorced, separated, remarried, etc] in which he
was called [saved by God]. . . . . 27 Are you bound to a wife? Do
not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a
wife. 28 However, if you do get married, you have not sinned, and if
a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But such people will have
trouble in this life, and I am trying to spare you. 29 And I
say this, brothers: The time is limited, so from now on those who
have wives should be as though they had none, 30 and those who
are sad should live as if they weren’t, those who are happy as if
they weren’t, 31 and those who deal with the world as though
they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is
passing away. 32 But I want you to be free from care. The
unmarried person cares for the things of the Lord, how he may please
the Lord; 33 but one who is married is concerned about the
things of the world, how he may please his wife, 34 and his
interests are divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is concerned
about the things of the Lord, so that she may be holy both in body
and in spirit; but the married woman concerns herself with the
world’s affairs, with how to please her husband. 35 I say this
for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to
promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the
Lord. 36 Now if a man thinks he is behaving dishonorably by
treating his virgin fiancée this way, and if there is strong
sexual desire, so that marriage is what ought to happen; then he
should do what he wants — he is not sinning: they should get
married. 37 But whoever is firmly established in his heart,
being under no necessity but having his desire under control, and
has determined this in his heart, to keep her as his betrothed, he
will do well. 38 So then, the one who marries his own virgin
does well, and the one who does not marry her will do better.
39 A [believing] wife is bound to her [believing] husband by
[God's] Law as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is
free to be married to anyone she wants—only [to someone] in the
Lord. 40 However, in my opinion, she will be happier if she
remains unmarried, and in saying this I think I have God’s Spirit.
