Hey, all. We are very excited to announce that we have negotiated with the AGA to hold the
U.S. Go Congress in Seattle 16-25 JUL 2027!!! Thanks to Ken Reppart and Tony Chick for signing up last year to be co-directors and doing a lot of footwork to review venues and contracts with the AGA to find a location (SeaTac Hilton at a light rail
stop). Chris K, founder and director, has been helping a ton with his decades of experience running Go congresses. The Go Congress was in Seattle in 1986, 1995, 2005, and 2013. It was the organizational ability of the Seattle Go community and the quality
of the 1995 congress that was a key factor in Iwamoto Sensei deciding to locate a Go Center in Seattle.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS
We can only pull this off with the local Go community stepping up and volunteering. Your efforts pay out in karma 😊, a sense of giving back to the community, and lead to a large donation from the AGA to Seattle to support Go here. Also, some larger, key
roles provide free congress registration, hotel room, banquet, or partial coverage of those.

* Marketing Manager -- oversees messaging, promoting, and reaching out to community from now until JUL 2027
* Volunteers Manager -- oversees all aspects of organizing and compensating volunteers
* UX Designer/Logo -- see below
* Treasurer -- oversees all bookkeeping, budgets, and actuals
* IT manager -- oversees tech, manages webmaster and A/V crew, internet, etc
* Webmaster -- manages marketing website
* Fundraising Assistant -- identifies and secures corporate, small business, and community support
Those are just the most immediate / big roles, but we need many folks at the event and in the days of head of it to make it all happen. Please look at the documents to see how you can help.
LOGO HELP
We are looking for immediate ideas for a congress logo and would love to hear from anyone with a creative side. Ultimately, we will need a designer to make a few final images and formats for different uses. We don't know if we can pay for chosen ideas/designs
or have a prize for a winning design, but if that's something you need, we would still like to hear from you. Here are a few of our past designs:
