This is the names thread. Gannon already started it. I said something
with "ego" Brenda said something about us all moving to somewhere new
to do this...evolving...something like that, right? More input please.

In keeping with ego and moving, about "Ego Evacuation"? Kind of like a
leave your ego at the door kind of a thing. I don't know. Maybe "Ego

I like it!!!!  I think it works.  It really does work on so many levels.  I know that sounds completely blonde but it does!

I think we should look into bio-imagery. The Nervous system. Eyes.
Brain. Digestion.
It brings it all down to the human body. As if theater somehow emerges
out of us as a part of our body's natural metabolic process. Though
steering clear of anything like "Shit Theater". I don't like that one
so much. We do not produce a waste product.

I see an androgynous human leaping across a nerve synapse.
Because it is about communication after all, right?

What about something with the word "crossroads." Isn't it true that they
would bury actors at a crossroads so their souls wouldn't be able to find
their way to heaven? And this is also a kind of crossroad for everyone
involved.

MORE IDEAS:

Crescendo Productions

Ex Machina Theater

Bull Ego Productions (Bull is a sign of Dionysus)

Poetic Productions (after Aristosle's Poetics)

Apron Theater (as in right next to the audience--the apron of the stage)

..sorry i'm going through my theater terminoloy book for ideas...

The Openers

Pity and Fear Productions (according to my book, the feelings the audience
feels for the tragic hero--I actually like this one)

Paper Productions

*The Hypokrites<----This is my favorite. This is the greek word for actor.

Ghost Walks Productions (this was slang for pay day in Shakespeares
time--the actor playing the ghost in hamlet was also the stage manager and
the one to pay the actors--I like the word productions cause it doesn't box
us in as much especially if we are considering doing some film stuff too)

Dumb Show Repertory Company

So thus far I enjoy these ones so far...

Ego Evacuation Productions

Pity and Fear Productions

Ghost Walks Productions

I also think the Production is much better than anything else.

So the one's I have come up with thus far are

Carbon Radix Productions (to combine the whole carbon thing and Radix is underground plant growth so it is us starting from the ground)

Impulsive Chasm Productions.

Words that have come to mind to me are Energy, Inflamation, Cyclical, Abysmal, Dificiency, Tendacy, Essence, Process,  Methodic.

I really like Ghost Walks.

So far that is my favorite because it's historical, and supernatural.
Much like us... or not really but still it also rolls off the tongue in
a great way.

I found this Latin word, "Ingressio" (een gray see oh). It means an

I just typed a long thoughtful response to this post but the wireless network here in france sucks and kicked me off.
Here is the jest of it:

Ingressio is a good name. I'd rather the name be in plain english, but I wouldn't hate it if it was chosen collectively.
Here are some others:

Spectrum Productions.
Diversity. Light refraction. Prisms, etc.

Spectral Productions
THis ties in the "Ghost Walks" heritage that we all like. I just dont really like the sound of Ghost walks productions.

Synapse Productions
I know I posted this before, but I still really like it. Memory. Realizations. Communication. Nerve Impulses.

Any ideas on how/ when we should vote on this?

I say we give it a little more time. I mean, we don't need to rush it. We
can still throw around names for a while before we officially vote. I feel
like there's a name out there that we will all like, we just have to find
it.

So far I like Spectral although isn't that the name of the thing they use on
you at the gynocologist? I like Hypokrite Productions (the greek word for
actor, pronounced hypocrite. I know we're not all actors but I just like the
idea of being called a hypocrite...and it's historical.)I like Ingressio. I
like some others too that I can't quite remember.

Now Hypokrite is good... besides me writing that line and then
considered how it could be taken. And I think that's the main problem
with it. Hypocrite invokes a number of emotions and thoughts within
people, mostly bad, and having that as our name might not be the best.

Still I like it.But Ghost Walk is my still favorite.

Ok. couple new ideas:
one: we use the word "hypokrytes" instead of "acting comapany" in our
programs.
We always do this. It would read- Hypokryts(or however you spell it)
actor name
actor name
actor name

for the prod. co.
neorenaissance productions
or...
weather machine productions
(I just like it. its catchy. Its one of those "just a name" things, but
its memorable.)
or we could name it "Bob L'Eponge".Spongebob Squarepants' french
equilavent. No, never mind.
Roy G. Biv might be cool though. From "Spectrum".
Every show could begin with strobing television color bars.
Uhm...maybe not.

Seriosuly guys, you have to forgive me I'm new to actually posting on
this thing. As for names, I really like hypokrits as well, but it does
limit us in the lo-fi productions sense. Those of you I know, know
what I'm talking about. I think we have to choose a name that is not
only unique but is easy to remember. I really like using it in
programs instead of "actors." that's fabulous. That having been said,
here are the names i like so far:
Crossroads
Apron
Ghost Walk

If we're still going with ego:
Ego-Synthesis?

i love using hyp... instead of actors i was mentioning that to meg when
i last saw her but i thought it should refer to the founders of the
company to seperate us from local actors or techs that we may need to
have with us.

I don't know if I've liked any with ego in them. It always feels like
preaching to me. Some kind of wierd self righteousness bleeds through
to me, if ever so subtle.
The only thing that works for me is simply "ego productions". In our
freudian saturated society, "Ego" has come to have a negative
connotation. The truth is that Freud borrowed this term from
something like sanskrit( I'll have to check on this) and it meant
something like soul or consciousness or entity. We all have ego's
whether we want to or not and we will never get rid of them. The
problem is that when it runs amok it is not respectful of others. To
really loose your ego is to loose your face, your name, your entire
identity.
If we name us simply "ego" people can infer what they will. But that
being said, I don't really even like the idea of "ego" altogether.
Just because acting like you really know a thing about it seems silly.
lo siento.

I like ghostlight but could have sworn I have heard that name before.  Can't remember where.  At least you are still coming up with stuff.  I am dry right now.  I think it might be being stuck in New Mexico.
