I have to figure out how to keep topics on this group open for more
than 30 days.
I want to revisit our shakespeare show and make a final decision. The
front runner is Twelfth Night and I think there are rolls in that play
which would be PERFECT for the actors in this company right now. I"ve
recently corresponded with Rusty and, all things considered, he would
really be excited to direct 12th night. Are there any other suggestions
concerning the play? Are we ready to make this decision?

Also, in regards to a website: One of my friends from early childhood
is a flash designer for an agency in Houston, Tx. He can do all kinds
of fancy yet tasteful websites and is willing to work for us. When I
spoke with him about it originally, I told him that I'd like to pay him
for it. It will not be a huge sum -basically a token of thanks, because
websites require hours of work. Keep in mind- this will not be a dinky
html site, but a moving, spinning, glowing highly professional site
that will make us look slick. I am willing to foot 100percent of the
bill (even though it won't be that high) just to have Jeff involved.
Will you guys please respond to this and let me know what you think
about it?

I'm all for for both. 12th Night works for me and I would be completely
psyched to have Jeff design the site. I really think it's very important to
have a smoothly running, easy to use site. I think you're said it many times
Gannon, theater needs to catch up with the fucking times and the internet is
an important part of all of that. I have a ton of ideas for the site. We
need to have a brainstorming session about all this. Also, another important
thing is who is going to be responsible for upkeep of this site? Who's
going to be adding the new press releases and the news of upcoming shows,
etc? I really hate it when sites aren't updated regularly--you know, then
what's the point? Jeff can't do the upkeep I bet simply because he's far
away and super busy.. But can he make it so one of us can? Keep the parts
that need updating simple enough or teach one of us how to do all that? We
don't want to have to pay someone everytime we need to add a show to the
site...

Jeff said all of that to me when we talked about it. He said that all the things that need updating regularly will be in html and that the site will be "hybrid." There will be flash elements in the more permanent aspects of the site.

Who's up for an attempted chat conference?

12th Night sounds SUPER exciting!

Website EVEN MORE SO!

Chat session.... I won't have access for the next two
weeks, so I don't know how well that one will work for
me until after that.

If I can be taught how to update the site, and have
access to a computer and the internet, I would love to
be in charge of that. However, we'll see what my
setup is like in Seattle, because at this point I'm
not sure if I'll be able to afford an internet
connection.

Question about 12th Night: are we looking at
auditioning the public, or are we going to try to
handle multiple roles ourselves? I've seen it done
with Othello that 5 actors played all of the parts in
the show and it was an amazing performance and really
powerful. Just curious.

:)
Felisa

about parts: I'm not sure. We should all discuss that and include Rusty in that discussion (director). I think we should keep it small, but if we can include at least 1 other actor from this area, that would be a good idea too just to help us network and build the company. Its all wide open at this point.

I agree that we should keep it small but try to include another actor that
is not us. I think maybe one or two other people TOPS so that we are
actually able to find someone talented. Try to fill 10 spots with good
actors. Doesnt' happen when you're a no name theater company who can't pay.
