-----------------------
Here's a random thought and yes I realize I'm getting ahead of myself:
Once we get to Seattle I think we need some serious structure. As in several
regular meetings per week. I propose something like this:
1 ensemble training session per week (anyone terrified of acting is
excused)--this would be serious physical training
1 acting values training session per week (again non actors excused but
welcome) this would be shorter than the physical session and we could do
scene and monologue work, maybe some improv and script development stuff.
1 writing workshop a week where we meet maybe write some shit read what
we've been working on, get some feedback, etc.
1 theater co. meeting where we get together discuss where the company's at
what needs to be done who needs to do it etc (this can be very informal and
happen at someone's house over dinner and drinks)
Of course all of these except the company meeting would be suspended when we
are in rehearsal.
I've been looking at these little Austin theater companies online and
getting ideas, so that was the catalyst of this outburst.
---------------------
Back on track:
Names-- Truth or Consequences Ensemble? Collective? TorCE. TorCC? or just
TorC? I don't know. I like the name though. As always not completely sold
and very flexible.
Mission Statement---more later.
and for those of you that have dropped off the face of the earth: What's the
deal? Are you in or out? On the fence? It would be nice to have a semi
estimate of what's going on. And if you're out--you'll regret it when we're
famous you dirty bastards!! SEE YOU IN HELL!!!!!

concerning mission statement: we've made some serious headway in that field. check up on that thread before we reinvent the wheel.
July 1st will be an excellent day!

Iris In
Calliope (but we should mispronounce it like they do in NOLA, just the way
it's spelled) Maybe spell it Calli Ope Theater
Pelican Group (people used to think that the pelican would feed its young
its own blood if there were nothing else to eat. But then it became a symbol
for Jesus--hence its appearance on the louisiana state flag--so i don't
know)
i still like Two Hours Traffic
Gorilla Dust Ensemble
Naked Terrain
Wrinkle Fire Theater
Circle Limbo (from Dante)
more later--

Two Hours Traffic is my favorite at this juncture. It's a great
reference to the mechanism of theatre, a great quote from a great play
by a great author, and it's active. So, there it is.
I think Gannon's mission statement may need just a little tweaking, but
everything I expected out of us is there. It's just a matter of making
it more readable to people who aren't us.
I love the workshop ideas, we'll see how feasible it will be to do all
of that once we all get there and have wierd work schedules. I think
we should seriously try, but it will need to be flexible.
Choos!
