I know several of us do not have internet. I know many of us are busy. I
know many of us (this would be me) are really lazy. But we have a self
imposed deadline creeping up on us. By July 1st we are to have this company
named and a mission statement hammered out. We need some more input here.
Also, GANNON--ask Rusty if he wants to be/is willing to be on this list.

-----------------------
Here's a random thought and yes I realize I'm getting ahead of myself:
Once we get to Seattle I think we need some serious structure. As in several
regular meetings per week. I propose something like this:
1 ensemble training session per week (anyone terrified of acting is
excused)--this would be serious physical training

1 acting values training session per week (again non actors excused but
welcome) this would be shorter than the physical session and we could do
scene and monologue work, maybe some improv and script development stuff.

1 writing workshop a week where we meet maybe write some shit read what
we've been working on, get some feedback, etc.

1 theater co. meeting where we get together discuss where the company's at
what needs to be done who needs to do it etc (this can be very informal and
happen at someone's house over dinner and drinks)

Of course all of these except the company meeting would be suspended when we
are in rehearsal.

I've been looking at these little Austin theater companies online and
getting ideas, so that was the catalyst of this outburst.
---------------------

Back on track:
Names-- Truth or Consequences Ensemble? Collective? TorCE. TorCC? or just
TorC? I don't know. I like the name though. As always not completely sold
and very flexible.

Mission Statement---more later.

and for those of you that have dropped off the face of the earth: What's the
deal? Are you in or out? On the fence? It would be nice to have a semi
estimate of what's going on. And if you're out--you'll regret it when we're
famous you dirty bastards!! SEE YOU IN HELL!!!!!

sure to all of that.
concerning mission statement: we've made some serious headway in that field. check up on that thread before we reinvent the wheel.
July 1st will be an excellent day!

I am in, in in!!  I realize that I haven't been putting in input.  I am in double show HELL.  I realize everyone is busy, but I signed up for this summer thinking I'd have some free time.  I have Sunday off and will dedicate a portion of it to this.  I have never wanted to move to seattle more.

MORE NAMES? (in the mindset of let's just make it sound cool)

Iris In
Calliope (but we should mispronounce it like they do in NOLA, just the way
it's spelled) Maybe spell it Calli Ope Theater
Pelican Group (people used to think that the pelican would feed its young
its own blood if there were nothing else to eat. But then it became a symbol
for Jesus--hence its appearance on the louisiana state flag--so i don't
know)
i still like Two Hours Traffic
Gorilla Dust Ensemble
Naked Terrain
Wrinkle Fire Theater
Circle Limbo (from Dante)

more later--

After reading everything I think I am finally ready to put in my
absolute FINAL vote for a comapny name.

Two Hours Traffic is my favorite at this juncture. It's a great
reference to the mechanism of theatre, a great quote from a great play
by a great author, and it's active. So, there it is.

I think Gannon's mission statement may need just a little tweaking, but
everything I expected out of us is there. It's just a matter of making
it more readable to people who aren't us.

I love the workshop ideas, we'll see how feasible it will be to do all
of that once we all get there and have wierd work schedules. I think
we should seriously try, but it will need to be flexible.

Choos!

I like Two Hour Traffic.Without the "s" on hours it rolls better.
It's a strong name, but also neutral. It leaves us lots of room to grow
without pigeon holeing us from the start. It also has great visual
potential for the Flash website my friend is going to make for us.
Remember, JULY 1ST IS THE DEADLINE!

Get your final name suggestions in!

Again to clarify:
Jeff, another one of Gannon's friends, who works as a graphic artist, said
he'd be willing to design a website for us for CHEAP. I really feel that a
website is CRUCIAL and something we need immediately. Jeff wanted us to
design a layout of the site (basically what needs to be included on the
site) and then he'd give us a quote. Hopefully cheap means cheap and this is
something we will be able to afford without much issue...we'll see...that's
another discussion to have once we get a quote...so me and gannon were
thinking of sitting down in a few days and figuring out a site map. I think
something very basic and we can add to it all later. So like a ticketing
link, an about us link (with mission statement and history bla bla bla), a
messageboard link, and give us your money link, and upcoming shows
link...that's just off the top of my head. We'll have to look at alot of
site for ideas. Anyway, if anyone has any brilliant ideas for the website,
send them our way. This is another great opportunity, it would be wonderful
get a website up ASAP, and it would be even more wondeful to have a
professional design it. Even more wonderful than that? A significant price
break. We'll see.
Morgan
