Ok, folks -
This here is the Shakespeare thread. My good friend and trusted
director, Rusty Tennent, is going to work with us this winter on a
Shakespeare show. This production will be highly original and boldly
interpretted, judging from precedent. Also, collaborative and physical.
When Rusty has a hand in the creation of a show, it nearly always
manages to stir the hornets nest.
His recomendation, and I think it is a good one, is that we go for one
of the most popular plays in order to draw an audience.

Macbeth(a well worked adaptation is ready)
Twelfth Night(A smaller cast and tailor made for January. Has 2 strong
female roles)
Hamlet(already has opposition)
The Tempest( an obvious choice given circumstances in Louisiana, but
requires the largest cast and many old-ass characters )
Romeo and Juliet
Julius Ceasar (perhaps relevent, but again- oldies needed)

Rusty's availablity is the 15th of December - 15th of January.

Is anyone stuck on going home for christmas?
If so, can your dates away be minimized?

Here we go....

Okay, so to clarify:
Rusty Tennent is a good friend of Gannon's that wants to work with us (I
really feel this is AMAZING news). Personally, I trust him completely as an
artist. I do not know him as a friend, but Gannon does and loves him. I've
seen several of his shows and let me tell you, he is fucking amazing. He
directed R & J which is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, Gannon was in
that, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Really. I've also
seen him act before and again, he's fucking amazing. From what I understand
he has a pretty solid background in viewpoints and some suzuki and would be
very into imparting that knowledge upon us and training with us bla bla bla.
This is something I am very excited about and so I hope you all are cool
with this idea, because I really feel it's a great opportunity. Rusty has a
great deal of experience, he was an MFA student at UNO---directing--and I'm
telling you the show I saw that he directed--AMAZING. So I really want to do
this with him. Like Gannon said, his strength is Shakespeare so it would be
a great idea to go with that--plus, I'm assuming that's what he's interested
in pursuing with us. He was temporarily toying with the idea of moving up to
Seattle and joining us, but I don't think that's really a possibility,
however he did say he wanted to work with us and offered these dates. I
think this is something we should take full advantage of. It would be great
to have a friend and colleauge in Rusty. So please all, respond with your
thoughts in this! Love you all--
Morgan

Of those plays listed, I would ADORE doing Twelfth
Night, Tempest, or Hamlet. I love all of the plays
lsited, however. Although, if we wanna steer from the
overly famous ones (which I know we don't)... I would
LOVE to do As You Like It. Just my two cents.

P.S. I doubt I can afford going anywhere next
Christmas, so I'm all in.

One-I'm fine with 2 hour(s) traffic. The 's' doesn't matter to me one
way or the other.
B-Mission statement seemed alright, what I can remember of it without
looking it up.
Triple i- As of now it looks like I won't be moving until mid January.
And it'll be a slow move for me. Gonna visit a friend in Santa Cruz and
hang out on the boardwalk. Maybe swing by my family's land in Northern
California and probably a few other places too, basically get some
fucking around time before I buckle down to having my life dominated by
this and making a living in a strange city. So despite wanting all
hands on for this project it's doubtful I'll be around. Now this might
change if my pisses me off in november and I decide fuck it I'm out.

So ya...hope this doesn't screw you all. And if it does... well...
sorry.

Sal

PS. Yeah been busy lately but who hasn't.

If Rusty's in and I can do it, I want the sounds coming from my Mac. I
don't know if I can get out there for a month, but I think (actually I
know) I can do it in a week or two based on past collaborations. All I
need is a few full runs. We work quick in the home stretch. If no one
has a problem with this, I'll make it happen and I'll rock the
audience's socks off! Thank You.
